If Gettleman doesn't get Ric Flair back in the fold, we might have to spend our first round pick on a washed up wrestler.

If Hardy does leave at least we're likely to aim a 3rd round comp pick.

did you not hear DG say I don't discuss contracts ???

he really said nothing about Hardy's or anyone else's contract.......nothing.

I can tell you this...............he's going to do what's best for the Carolina Panthers.

He will do whats best for us, given the situation we are in and what he is capable of.  If our cap situation was better, maybe he would be able to resign Greg.  Maybe our cap situation wont allow us to pay Greg what Gettleman believes he is worth. Maybe he wishes he could keep Greg but cant.  I can understand the argument that if Greg is asking for too much, it will hurt the team, but it sucks when your cap number prevents you from giving him a fair price. So yes, he will do whats best for us, but that still might not be the best situation for us.

The most important thing he said in the entire press conference was in 2 years we will be out of cap hell. He gave you a variable, now the cap nerds can run with that and reverse engineer what it would take to shed bad contracts for the 2016 season.

read between the lines.  That was the first shot sent at Hardys agent.  Hardy wants to stay here.  If we tag him, hes getting traded to possibly a non contending team.  DaveG isnt gonna overpay hardy with his cap as fuged up as it is.  Hardy will push his agent to get a fair deal done.

I think for DG contract negotiations started when the game clock hit 0 on Sunday.  He is posturing.

Which is why I'm ok with a tag and trade for as low as a 3rd or early 4th for this year but no lower.

Why is everyone focusing on the first part of the title when the second is more important?

They confirmed that Shula is staying?

we are in cap Hell you know through next season at least. there may be some unpleasant casualties but that's what you got to do sometimes when you take over a trainwreck.

Shula will be fired by the end of next year. He's not going to improve.
