Since we're supposed to be preparing for a Super Bowl run next season on a budget, let's talk about home town discounts once again. Since Chris Gamble was released the secondary has been a target. Deservedly so.

I'd like to see us finally draft a WR, double up on Oline and draft another TE. What would make that possible is shoring up the CB position with a veteran. Chris GAMBLE still had a lot left in the tank when Gettlemagic released him. C'mon Riverboat how bout another GAMBLE?

What say you?

He retired. His shoulder injury was far more serious than earlier thought and he's going to be 31 in March.

It was his choice to retire, he's done well for himself and made wise financial decisions that will allow him to live fairly comfortably and enjoy his kids.

Before I opened it, I thought for sure this was a post about signing a troubled but talented player for years.

If that were true, and he'd wanted to continue playing, he wouldn't have retired.

No. Gamble was great here but he's retired and has no interest in coming back. It's very hard to come back at full speed after a year off from football, especially given he was injured the year before that too if I recall right.

    • Not sure why people keep talking about Allen and a transition to DE. The guy isn't transitioning to DE in a 4-3. You might be able to plug him in at DE situationally like in goal line situations or 3rd and short, but he's not going to be a full time DE in a 4-3. He's a three technique DT in a 4-3. Think Short, Aaron Donald, Fletcher Cox etc.

    • Yeah but it's been one sided for a while now, teams have been stacking the box against us for what now? 3 years. 2015 we were able to make them pay for it but until our wr's not named KB and Olsen scare teams it will be this way

    • I wonder if we might trade Funch to the Pats for a draft pick?
