Mr. Scot

Darren Sharper arrested on suspicion of rape

Oh, I think Roethlisberger did it.

Regardless, there was an entire SI cover story about how big an a--hole he was, so it's pretty stupid to suggest he got off easy.  Heck, he still gets flak for it (and deserves it).

But to be clear, the reason he got off easy was because none of his accusers ever wound up pressing charges.  They knew what kind of legal team Roethlisberger could afford.

Darren Sharper doesn't exactly make Roethlisberger money.  And while I'm sure he can afford a good legal team, he's facing seven accusations at once Roethlisberger only faced two, and they weren't concurrent.

So wait...How come he's not given the benefit of the doubt like Ben was? Where is the "innocent till proven guilty" crowd? Oh wait...wrong society I'm dealing with...SMH

Hahahaha sharper has allegedly raped 7 women! 7! No matter what race you are, that poo is inexcusable. Don't make a race issue out of something that is far from it.

USA Today: Serial rape suspect Darren Sharper promoted women's safety

Former NFL star Darren Sharper once felt so strongly about violence against women that he wrote an essay about it for a book in 2010. He lamented how women are "undervalued and exploited," saying that as a father he felt compelled to speak up.

"Money cannot buy the women we love everyday security, which men take for granted," Sharper wrote in the book. "So, it's going to take strong, accountable men to educate young boys and influence other men to deal with women respectfully, honorably and fairly at all times."

Four years later, Sharper, 38, is scheduled to appear in a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday on charges that he raped two women after giving them drinks laced with a sedative to knock them out. Sharper posted $200,000 bail after he was arrested on Jan. 17, but prosecutors in Los Angeles will ask a judge to raise Sharper's bail to $10 million, noting that Sharper is under investigation for seven rapes and 11 druggings in four states. Sharper faces up to 30 years in prison for the Los Angeles charges.

According to court documents, the alleged rape victim in Louisiana met Sharper at an event for Saints players the same day he sent the tweet. After the event, she accompanied Sharper to a bar and consumed a drink that Sharper gave her. Her next memory is waking up the next day with Sharper on top of her sexually assaulting her, the records show.

The woman went to the hospital for a sexual assault examination on Sept. 24., the day Sharper was a star attendee at the football camp for women, intended to raise breast cancer awareness. A promotional poster for the event said, "Let's Get Physical" and it advertised "Get Crunk Cocktail Hours."

According to court records, a swab taken from the alleged victim during her exam showed the presence of Sharper's DNA.

Police say all of the rape cases follow a similar pattern. Sharper allegedly provided women with drinks and then raped them while they were unconscious. The cases involving the other five alleged victims are still under investigation in Las Vegas, New Orleans and Tempe, Ariz.

Sharper was also one of the louder media voices saying that "Bountygate" never happened.

But I'm sure he wouldn't lie, right?

    • But we don't have the complete list.  We only know the players we have been linked to because it was released by the player or his agent.  The team doesn't release their contact list, and not all meetings get released by the player or agent.  Anyway, we also talked with guys at the Senior Bowl, East-West Shrine game, and combine.  So most likely, we have at least had a conversation with every player that is a possibility.  And if the team feels comfortable with those meetings as well as what they saw on tape, scout reports, combine performance, pro day performance/interview, etc., then there may not be a reason to set up a formal meeting.
    • I don’t care if this is only 4 players, I think we should capitalize on the talent in this draft and get who we want.  Here’s 4 potential starters at critical spots:       Jamal Adams SS LSU 6’1 This guy elevates the defense.  Arguably more than any other player in the draft.  I know we want offense but Adams is hard to ignore if available.     John Ross WR Washington 5’11 188 4.22 I want a playmaker and this is a playmaker.  If Davis and Williams go first and he’s in the 20s, we’re trading up.  I believe this as much as raspberry milf juice.  This ain't just about 4.22.     Jordan Willis DE Kansas State 6’4 255 10” hands 33.5 arms Another defensive linemen? But we've got Peppers, CJ, and Addison! Yeah and now Horton and Delaire are going to be off the team.  This footballer is projected to go higher that a ton of people are surmising and has been having a meteoric rise (that is once online browser-writers realized how high scouts are looking at him)      Jeremy McNichols RB Boise State 5'9 214   I will call him speedy-rumble mctubberjackal.  Absolute ownage in many regards.
