David Newton ranking our 21 FAs by importance (updated 21 thru 5)

hmm... top probably something like...

1.Hardy

2.Mitchell

3.Gross

4.Ginn

5.Captain

#5 is hard, because I think what Mikell brings to the defense is underrated on this board sometimes, but Captain is too.

#3 is primarily because of our how many FAs we have on the OL as it is and how weak it is.  The draft could change this, and I think losing Ginn would be a huge mistake.

#4 I think is a lock to come back, along with #2.  The others, I'm not sure on.

I'm thinking that Graham Gano is going to be in the top five.

...I didn't even realize he was a FA.  He definitely is up there.

Why has Clausen's name been coming up so much? Am I wrong or didnt the team cut him?

from the Team page on the Panthers site:

TRANSACTIONS
Placed on injured reserve with an injured right shoulder by Carolina (9/1/13)...Waived/injured by Carolina (8/31/13)...Selected in the second round (48th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft by Carolina (4/23/10).

The fact that Jimmy Clausen's name is still associated with professional football in any shape or form is pathetic, tragic, deplorable, despicable, horrendous, and down right bullshit.

Hey man...don't hold back!  Tell us what you really think!

Lol at LaFell. When you're checking in 1 spot higher than Pickles, it should tell you something

Lafell has some talent, and he's tough. Just inconsistent.  I'm not sure if he and his agent honestly expect for him to get paid like a number two receiver.  I think he's great depth though, and valuable on certain plays.  I'd take a shot at a 1 year deal worth maybe like 1.5 mil, and go let him explore FA.

He cleared waivers as a released player which by rule he reverts back to his original team that cut him and is placed on IR.  or something like that.

waived/injured is not the same as waived. When he passed through waivers he was defaulted to our IR. So yes, he's been on our teams IR all year.

I have a hard time believing that Bruce Campbell (UFA,  not yet listed) would be ranked higher than the names already mentioned (except Pickles).

I put Gross at number 1.  He's a quality LT and we have NOBODY to replace him, nor do we have the $$ to sign a top LT.  He wants to finish a Panther and will probably sign for less than he deserves.  Get him signed now.
