dont schedule that party just yet

Super Bowl XLVIII is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 2, but the NFL put contingency plans in place to play the game any time between Friday and Monday next weekend.

A storm of massive proportions would have to be in the forecast for the league to make those contingencies a reality.

"We are embracing the weather," commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday. "Football is played in the elements"

"If a major storm or severe temperatures impacts the region, the game could be played anywhere from Friday, Jan. 31 to Monday, Feb. 3. But the NFL said that's a worst-case scenario with a low probability based on current weather models.

Dumb. Colin Cowherd said it best don't have it in a place where you even need a contingency plan at all. People plan parties, trips, and vacations around this. Bad move NFL.

Hope they reschedule it... then they still get hit by a blizzard.

This quite possibly could be the first Super Bowl I will miss, watching on TV that is.

Marc James has been whining about the game being outside in a cold environment, largely because he's too big a pansy ass to watch a game in anything less than perfect weather.

It's football.

He's a Raiders fan. Makes sense now, huh?

Hope a big snow storm happens and they have to move it just to embarrass Goodell.

Bunch of ninnies too scared to sit in the cold. Christ.

That said, it will be much warmer than it has been. It's about 9 with the wind chill right now. Slight chance of snow that weekend but nothing crippling. Oddly, and maybe because the G-Men and Jets aren't in it, the city doesn't care at all about the game. You see stuff in the touristy areas, but us locals don't give a rat's ass that the Super Bowl is here.

The Super Bowl shouldn't be played in the elements. There could be 16 feet of snow and 30 below zero and the NFC championship game should go on. Not the super bowl. The elements should be superb, and the best team should win.

My, oh my. Our society is getting softer...in a bad way. Too bad that softness isn't extended towards people in ways that will actually help people to improve their lives and society as a whole...
