Bears Not Likely To Resign Charles Tillman

46 posts in this topic

The Chicago Tribune doesn't expect the Bears to re-sign free agent CB Charles Tillman.

Tillman, 33, played in just eight games this season due to multiple injuries. The Bears are unlikely to offer a contract anywhere close to the $7.95 million he made in 2013, but there's been speculation that Tillman could reunite with Bucs coach Lovie Smith in Tampa. "I am just going to see what happens. I have options," Tillman said. Rotoworld ranks Tillman as the No. 6 free agent cornerback this offseason. He could also be moved to safety depending on where he signs.

Rivera connection. Could be Mikell type player. Injured a lot last year, still talented when not.

Discuss.

Doubt it. I'm not too hopeful for big names given how many FA's we have of our own.

btw, I don't think we wanna see Revis and Tillman on the Bucs too. What a sick combo.

I would love it but lovie might have us beat on this.

At the same time they do have revis and banks. Tillman would get more playing time here

He'd sign with Tampa the day after Chicago cuts him.

Any way you slice it there is a plethora of good CB's believed to be hitting the market this year.

The more the better.

If Peanut came here, both of our starting corners would be Ragin Cajun Alums which would make me one incredibly happy guy.

He'll sign with Tampa, they have much more cap and the Lovie Smith connection is much stronger than the Rivera connection.

I'm also not sure how much I want a 33 year old corner who can't seem to stay healthy at this point in his career.

    • Sure, discuss away. Like Montsta has pointed out already, Fournette is an unknown outside of the serious football world.  The only place he is likely commonly known is the Deep South, and the Deep South is definitely not known for being cutting-edge trailblazers in the world-wide fashion scene. So, do explain to all of us schlubs how Leonard Fournette being provided free high-fashion shoes raises the status and profile of a world-reknowned designer.
    • LOL, have you not noticed the trend of athletes and their fashion sense? NFL.com has red carpet videos and reviews: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-draft-red-carpet http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/0ap2000000348360/Top-3-best-dressed-on-NFL-Draft-Draft-red-carpet Even B list stars get free high fashion. Are you really going to tell me that only A list stars get dressed for free? Sorry guys, if you've missed the fashion revolution of the NFL, you aren't watching close enough. It's just funny that it's out of the question to think that a player, who might be the most discussed draft prospect, could get free swag from designers. Do you really think Cam isn't getting free stuff from designers who want him to wear it and post pictures for his followers? It's still a violent sport folks, but damn, too funny. I'm done, I don't even care about fashion. I have no idea whose shoes Fournette was wearing.
