and Marvin Williams wasn't event a starter that year.

Marvin was still making a contribution and getting Playing time.
PJ was barley ever on the court his freshman year. I forgot he was on that team half way thru the year.

What does getting drafted in the first round have to do with being a good basketball player...

Hornets fans should know that one-time Hornet point guard David Wesley went undrafted but I guess since he went undrafted and Jimmer Fredette was drafted in the top 10 we already know who is better.

You're also severely underrating the notion that Hairston is going up against much more physical players. Hood is playing against freshmen and sophomores in college who might not even be done growing or physically maturing as where Hairston is going up (and dominating) full grown men.

Um it has everything to do with being taken in the 1st round. What superstar was not taken in the 1st round? There are some "diamonds in the rough" but not a lot.

Has PJ had some really good games in the D league? Yes he has played well I just don't know that you can compare playing D league to playing college ball. The D league is 48 minutes and is a more wide open game which means more possessions. I compare what PJ did in the Acc to what Hood is doing in the Acc.

No you have a agenda. I'm the one saying Hood and PJ would be great fit and have a lot of potential. You Tarheel faith are making every excuse for PJ'S in ability to crack the Tar heel starting line-up until half way thru his 2nd year. And taking every opportunity to downgrade Hood.

Badly I must say.

Like I said earlier both have a lot of potential as Nba 2 guards and both would be a instant upgrade for this team. I'm waiting until the draft process plays out before I figure who is better for the Hornets.

But I see a few people with light blue blinders on have already made up their mind before the process has even started.

Your reading comprehension is terrible.  I've never said anything bad about Hood.  I actually said I don't know enough about him.  All I'm doing is pointing out that your argument against PJ is weak and flat out wrong and has no relevance to which player will be better for the Hornets or in the NBA.  There's no mistake about it. Then when it's obvious that you're not making sense you do what every ABCer does and flip it to say we're wrong because we're Heels fans.  Like we don't hear that every day.  That doesn't prove your point by the way.

My love for the Hornets and Heels are two completely different things.  I wouldn't let one cloud judgement for the other.

Please explain to me what this has to do with who's the better player now?

What it sounds like you're saying to me is that PJ was irrelevant as a freshmen.  Which means in the past three years he's improving at a more rapid pace than Hood, since you're also claiming that Hood was so awesome as a freshmen.

I think what we can conclude from all this is that unc fans would take PJ to the Hornets over Hood and Duke fans would take Hood over PJ for the Hornets.

First off, are you insinuating that Hood could be a superstar? Because most superstars aren't taken between the 15-18 range.

As far as the conference talk, the ACC as a conference was much better last year than it is this year...

You can make an argument that top to bottom UVA is the most complete team in the ACC... (I'm fairly certain that hasn't been said in a while).

I'd rather compare what each player is currently doing... it's not like P.J. is playing against high schooler's; these are players that were either drafted or had solid years as college players and decided to continue playing ball in the D-Leauge.

What's funny is that most UNC fans don't even like Hairston anymore because he cost us a chance to compete this year... but we recognize how much talent he has and hope the best for him.

This is 100% accurate.

It makes me sick to my stomach to think about what a moron PJ is and how he's affected the team this year.  I'm not even confident that I would want the Hornets to pick him because he has been such a jackass.  I would certainly hope MJ would give him a good talking-to.

But to deny that the guy has superstar potential and is projected as late first rounder (where we have a pick)?  C'mon.....

No you were insinuating that there are all these really good players that are playing in the d league and I was pointing out that of the players you named there was only one maybe two that were taken in the 1st round.

It's fine we will see how they both fair next year when they are in the NBA. Obviously both players can score I like Hood better because he can play defense and that was an Achilles heel for PJ.

 Achilles heel for PJ.

Man....that's definitely a huge stretch.  PJ definitely only played D when he wanted to or had to.  A lot of the time he ended up guarding the other team's 4 because the Heels were so small.  If he was guarding other 2s they would have had a hard time getting a shot off.

So is playing stupid a UNC fan thing?

You knew I was talking about your B.S. statement that Freshman aren't expected to contribute at UNC.

Come on PJ was a great scorer but defense is where his game lacked. Unc's best defensive player last year was Bullock, he could lock a guy down.
