Rodney looked pretty good for 4 minutes of the first half the other night. After that I didn't even know whether or not he was on the court .

Hood could be just as good. You're letting your UNC basis show. No way right now can you say 1 has more potential then the other.
I think PJ could be great for this team but I also see a great fit with Hood as well.

Beside the fact that we have MKG, a second overall pick?!?

Unless you are saying Hood is / will play SG in the NBA. (he wont)

Hairston is a much better fit and of equal talent.

Steven Jackson with the same body type not nearly the athleticism or defensive mentality played SG for us.

So why can't Hood?

Hood in every part of the game, and yes he could play sg if a team wanted him too. He is better with dribble/drive than Hairston, and he finishes better at the rim. As far as shooting goes, Hood is posting better numbers as a sophomore than Hairston did last year as a sophomore. Then you have personality/character which obviously goes to Hood.

Sophomore years
Hairston .431 fg% and .396 3pt.%
Hood .474 fg% and .436 3pt.%

He could but he is a SF. Why would I want him to play anything other than his natural / best position?

This doesnt have anything to do with positions but Hood doesnt strike me as a tough guy. When the game gets physical he seems to fade imo.

Regardless ill take PJ at SG over Hood. Id also take McDerm over Hood as far as SF's / PF's go.

If both players are off the board I wouldnt mind Hood.

Same can be said for PJ who also can swing from SG/SF heading. And their is no way in hell i'd take McDermott over either one of them. That sounds like another Adam Morrison over Gay and Roy move. We've made that mistake already.

That would be the dumbest poo ever. Falling for another Good College player who can't match up with the athletes in the NBA at his position.

Hood is a beast but I still prefer Hairston over Hood.

Would be happy with either

I think McDerm is a much better NBA prospect than Morrison. McDerm can be a stretch 4 as he has a better body and a better rebounder than Morrison.

PJ is actually projected later than McDerm. My perfect draft would be getting PJ and McDerm. Obviously that is with the conviction McDerm will be a solid NBA player and not a bust like Morrison.

McDermott is a 6'8 to 6'7 SF in the nba with no athleticism. He will be a mismatch problem on DEFENSE and have a hard time getting his shot off.
McDermott at best is a bench player/journey man in the Nba. Wally Serbeack was a better prospect and how that work out.

Wally didnt have the complete offensive game imo as McDerm.

Guess we will have to revisit this topic during next season.

Wally had a very nice career and even made an all-star team... If we were guaranteed that player with the Portland pick we'd be foolish to look away.

McDerm wont be available with the Por pick. I am praying PJ or LaVine will be though.
