We're the only one that made the playoffs out of that bunch

Yeah, that's not exactly an exciting bunch to be with.

I hope we didn't get rid of any scouts. Because that would be a stupid move.

I definitely like the sound of the BLESTO philosophy better (i.e. performance over measurables).

Gettleman was a scout for years.  I trust that he knows what he's doing in that department.  I wouldn't worry so much about the other teams using this firm.  You can give decision makers the best information in the world, but it doesn't amount to a hill of beans if they don't listen to it.

This can be nothing but good news as far as im concerned. We may now see some of those late round gems fall our way. Dare i say maybe a second round-third round pick pan out?

I like this move. How many guys did we waste picks on under the previous GM picking based on "potential?" Armanti Edwards anyone?

This isn't all that surprising. Gettleman has worked within and with BLESTO for pretty much his entire career. It's his comfort zone.

agreed and it was only a matter of time. in fact i kind of expected it earlier than this but i think it was just a matter of him wanting to give national scouting a chance before switching.

i like that it's happening.

This only makes sense. As Gettleman knows the tendencies of BLESTO, he can better analyze, and/or make the decisions on certain players. IE: He has a better feel. With National, not so much; presuming.

Does your gut tell you this is an isolated move or a first move with others to come?
