Kiper declares Manziel the best QB in the Draft

Personally, I don't think any of the QB's should be taking in the top half of the first round, but everyone always reaches for the QB's.

If I were Cleveland, I'd take Watkins at 4 and pick a QB with my second first rounder.  Bortles might be there.

My personal opinion:

Manziel is being over-hyped by the media. Manziel is a dual threat, however I'm not sure his arm/throwing skills are up to par in the NFL. He plays backyard football, and I’m not sure that translates to the NFL very well. He improvises incredibly well at times, but he also did it in situations where it was completely unnecessary. I think that people are being enticed by the idea of having a Cam Newton, or Russell Wilson, or RG3, but I don't think Manziel is cerebral as Wilson, Physically gifted as Cam, or as good of an athlete as RG3. To me, he is the poor man's mobile QB: he really reminds me of Mike Vick.

He is used to running around in the backfield like a chicken with his head cut off, and that flies fine in college, look at what The Golden Calf of Bristol was able to accomplish, but it does not translate to the pros well. I have not seen him read a defense, go through a progression without scrambling, or any of that. He’s fun as hell to watch, but just doesn’t seem disciplined in his game. I think he relies too heavily on his evasiveness in the pocket and does not stand tall and deliver throws when he needs to: AKA The Golden Calf of Bristol. If he feels pressure, he will try and bail, and the athletes in the NFL are far better than the Athletes even in the SEC. They will run him down, and they will hurt him, much again, like Vick.

I’m not rooting against the kid, I really just don’t see it ending that well.

Pay close attention to just his head. Lol

Anyway, that's an OL right there. They create such a wall you can't even see in that gif who they're playing against. That's the Luxury Peyton now have. How are certain teams just know how to build things like that.

I had a long post typed up but I acidentally clicked a bookmark and lsot all of it lol.

To sumamrize: Too many stupid throws, needs to learn how to stay behind the o-lne, needs to "play QB and not magician.", learn how to read defenses, needs to go through his reads better. Could be like a Farve/Steve Young combo, could be out f the leauge in 3-4 years.

So, what do you have for me this year? What is your source telling you about the Panthers plan in the draft?

I love the passion that exists for football, the draft, and Mel Kiper....

We all need to remember that he's on ESPN because he drives viewers and web hits.  I mean, the hair alone...

Manziel is interesting, and he might have a really high ceiling.  To me he has a large "bust-side" to go with the upside.  What if he forces throws from the pocket, or gets bent in half on one of his "magic" moments?  I'm more preferential on Bridgewater simply because he's shown he can run an NFL style offense.  Of course the same was said about Jimmy Clausen so it kind of remains to be seen how any of these young QBs turn out.

I'm really glad we don't have to worry about this!

I would think people would have to take him seriously if they pay the premium to read his stuff.

I'd honestly take Bortles or Bridgewater over Manziel.

I think Blake Bortles is going to be the #1 pick, giving Cleveland a tough choice at #4.
