CHICKASAW, Alabama -- Charges have been upgraded against three people accused of beating an elderly Chickasaw man in his home on Jan. 27 after the 86-year-old died over the weekend, according to the Mobile County District Attorney's Office.
Carroll Jordan, 86, died on Saturday at the University of South Alabama Medical Center nearly two weeks after he was found by a neighbor following a vicious beating and stabbing. Chickasaw police said the suspects in the case attacked the elder man as part of a home invasion. A television belonging to Jordan was found in his yard after the attack and believed to be left behind by Jordan's fleeing attackers.
His wedding ring was also stolen by his attackers, according to an incident report filed in court. Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich told the Press-Register and AL.com that all the suspects got in the attack was a pizza.
Wouldn't be surprised if they were related because this happened in Chickasaw, Alabama (a suburb of Mobile, Alabama) and Captain Munnerlyn is from Mobile, Alabama per his Wikipedia page. http://en.wikipedia....ptain_Munnerlyn. Munnerlyn is a pretty unique last name.
Pretty messed up story but it conveniently leaves out any details about if the attackers knew the victim before the incident.
