And it's Canadians passing the Cup around on those American teams.

Some of them are Europeans too

Yeah, thats why it is such a big letdown. Four years is a long time to wait between games. It's like having to wait 4 years to draft Cam Newton after suffering through the 2010 season.

Yea I don't see a problem with taking a break in the middle of the season and have the best players from each country compete against each other. Don't have to call it the Olympics. Can call it something else like International Finals or something. Would be awesome if the NHL could do something like that.

It would be a somewhat meaningless game that players probably wouldn't risk injury to put forth a competitive effort.

Still pretty upset.

I skipped class and had some guys over to the dorm (one a hockey player on my schools team) and we watched the game only to be utterly disappointed.

Between Carey Price playing really well and the U.S. not sending guys to the nets to put home the rebounds; I don't think we would have scored even if we had played six periods of hockey.

This.

Anyways, thought it was a great game yesterday, could have went either way but Canada really smothered the US for most of the game. It's unfortunate this was probably the last time NHL players could be sent to the Olympics, the Canada-US battles have been special.

Yeah, the Tavares injury was the nail in the coffin. The Islanders who were making a playoff run may as well pack it in now. This injury is costing the team money from potential playoff tickets and even meaningful games down the stretch. Not a chance we ever see the NHL players back at the Olympics, which sucks.

Guys that should've been on the team:

Keith Yandle
Dustin Byfuglien
Matt Carle
Jack Johnson
Kyle Okposo
Bobby Ryan

It's in the numbers. We also did a terrible job of selecting the defense. When there are at least 4 guys that you know should've been on the defense, something is wrong. I had a feeling that would haunt us and it did. And Ryan Miller not being the starter is inexcusable. The numbers do not lie.

Not to mention the bad selection of Bylsma as head coach.

I don't know what the USA Olympic Committee was thinking when they were putting together this team. It looks like they were more worried about satisfying their own agenda than actually trying to win in the Olympics. Very disappointing.

Yandle is the only one I would take out of those you mentioned, I don't know what the complaining is all about, the USA had the highest scoring team in the tourny and everyone (yes, even those of us in Canada) had the USA as the favorites in the semi final. Canada played their best game of the tourny and obviously the USA didn't have much desire to play today. Its unfortunate the last two games were disappointing but they were good all tourny, not a whole lot else they could do.

They had a good roster, but could've been great. When they met the great teams, they failed. You can't be just good to beat Canada and get the gold.

As a Jets season ticket holder I watch alot of big Buff. One of my fav players. Not sure he'd have the endurance to play on the big ice although he has some serious hands. But at the end of the day I don't think he'd be able to keep.

Totally agree about Bobby Ryan though.
