1.Jason Verrett CB
2.Davante Adams WR
3.Cyrus Kouandjio OT
4.Bruce Ellington WR
5.Aaron Lynch DE(he has hurst going a couple picks after which I would prefer)

This would be an amazing draft, never thought about a CB in the first. Ron and Dave have talked about the secondary being a strong position in the draft and how it needs to be addressed so it makes sense

Could have also gone with these players after the selected guys above.
1. WR Kelvin Benjamin
2. TE Austin Sef-Jenks
3. CB Terrence Mitchell Oregon
4. WR Bruce Ellington or LT James Hurst
5. DE Arron Lynch or James Hurst

I am okay with the 2nd, 4th and 5th.

I have given my reasons for not wanting Cyrus, here are my reasons not to want Verrett.

First, I think he has shutdown potential in some aspects, except for his height.

Using a 1st rounder on a guy is generally the only way you get a guy with shutdown potential.  Trouble is, we play zone and don't need to spend that high a pick for a guy we can pick in the 3rd to fit our system.

It is kinda like buying a 4 wheel drive vehicle when you never plan on going off road.  You have kinda wasted some money.

Value is what you want to get in each round.

Yes, there will be good CBs and WR's at the bottom of round one, but can we utilize a WR better or CB better.

Might have been better to have gone

Benjamin, Cooks, OBJ in the 1st

Mewhort in the second

CB in the third

WR in the 4th

Blah Blah Blah

Value would be good in each round.

I'd much rather have Fuller than Verrett. But unless one of the top 3 OTs fall to us (only Lewan even has a slight chance) I want a pass catcher in the first. Better value. Then if Fuller isn't available in the 2nd get a CB in the 3rd or 4th. Better value.

5'9'' corner in the first...no thanks. We need size in the backfield not another nickel corner.

Lol just because he's 5'9 doesn't mean he needs to be relegated to nickel, he's played against some top receivers/passing games and shut them down

Unless the report on Kouandjio's knee looks much better come draft time, I'd pass on him. We already have two guards coming of serious injuries so I'd prefer a guy without many health concerns.

Bruce would be an ineteresting pick that we could use in a variety of ways.

If we pass on ASJ in the 2nd for Davante Adams I'm gonna rage

if either ASJ or Amaro are available in the 2nd you pretty much run to the podium and turn in the card for them

If it's all good and he can play tackle, had would be a good choice. Otherwise, we need some WRs out if this special group.

Odell Beckham looks the most game-ready of the WRs at our pick. Cooks is just so tiny, but he sure does have some moves. Benjamin looks like a bit of a project and drafting Matthews here might be a reach but might not be available for our second pick, so it's a tough situation to be in for us.

Hoping for the best and at least 4 starters, regardless of the playing position.
