Panthers attempting to trade Steve Smith.

Recommended Posts

Can you imagine the chip on his shoulder??

If he plays for another team I bet you he will go the fug off.

This is killer.... he is the heart beat of the panthers. With Gross gone... we only have Smitty and TD..

Im guessing its because our northern GM got a piece of Smittys mind with this game playing bs with the players..

We have to get younger and better at WR.

What if we could use that $3m space to help get a guy like Nicks?

Nicks is not a replacement for Steve Smith. Not at all.

I thought Chipper Jones retiring was upsetting, but this.....Man.

Retire 89 please and draft Cooks or OBJ round 1

If G'man does this, he better add some damn weapons somehow in free agency because if we send Cam into the season with jack poo for targets, G'man is gonna go from hero to zero in my mind.

If you would have told me back in 2008-2009 that we'd be trading Jon Beason and Steve Smith for a 7th rounder each, I woulda told you to have your head examined.

The NFL, she is a fickle bitch boy I tell ya.

Really hope Smitty considers taking a pay cut/restructure. He's probably not going to though. :(

Not so sure about that....much younger.  Smith at 34 is slowing.  WR's usually go fast when they start to fade.

Again...not sure what their plan is.  But, Smith is not worth $7M per season and is not the future of this team.

Gett is trying to clean up the cap space and get this team ready to compete consistently in the future.  Hard decisions always come in that situation.

might be to show him how many teams are interested in him at that cap hit.

i dunno.

writing is on the wall tho.

tough choice and will be a very unpopular and uncomfortable one, but given our cap it might be the right one.

fortunately there are a lot of very good receivers available in the draft and FA. if you are going to completly rebuild your WR corps, this is as good of a year as you will ever find to do it.
