I want to be clear about my posts. The main point of most of them was to say that Gettleman has done nothing with the Panthers to deserve being beyond reproach.

Come talk to me 3 seasons from now and maybe my opinion will have changed.

Until then I will remain skeptical as any reasonable person should.

I hope Gettleman is making the right moves but I'll just have to wait and see.

I am wildy outnumbered on this but, looking at our roster now and the one we had this time last year I think we are pretty much on par. Losing Gross hurt like hell but other than him and Steve I can't see the reason to panic.

you don't "turn a team over" for a 16-0 record the next year.

it takes time. 31 teams wont win the superbowl next year. we will now be in better shape then most with a core group of young guys and cap room. why is everybody whining 24-7? Go root for the Pats if you want interesting signings every year

it's the second day of FA. You act as if you have no frigging clue.

Unless it's not an act!

90% of my posts at this point are sarcastic while on homework breaks.

Marty Hurney was always trying for a successful season.

Dave Gettleman wants to build a successful future.

Maybe this coming season is successful.  Maybe it isn't.  Either way, prioritizing short-term success over long-term success is what got us into the mess that they're right now having to try and fix.

Why do you trust Gettleman so much? How do you know he's "got it"?

Why do people insist on treating people that question Gman (which is what a logical person would do) like over emotional football idiots?

I think some of you Gettophiles put a lot of unearned trust in Dave.

Maybe he knows more about football and personnel matters than all of us combined? Maybe this blows up, but based on his moves last season, I am taking a wait and see approach.

Maybe. All I'm saying is that it remains to be seen. I understand people questioning his moves. What I fail to understand are the people who think everything he does is part of some genius plan.

It's much more reasonable to be skeptical until one can review his results.
