WOW!!

This FO under Gettelmen is leaking a little to much for me.

No it's just good. One day you will learn why.

Even if the leak came from Smith's camp. Why even tell him that??

Why give ammunition to a player who always has a chip on his shoulder?

Automated posting bots would be capable of making more cogent posts than a lot of what I see on here.

I'll take that as a compliment.

We're getting rid of Smitty ok. No need to let stories on how much of a "distraction" he is in the locker room or the whole blasting him to the media at the combine and not giving him heads up 1st.

I understand the move but did it really need to be handled this way?

Can Gettelmen get his people to shut the fug up to the media?

How does it help you trade a player when you dog his character like this?

I honestly wish they just do it already and move on. The longer this drags on the more poorly handled it becomes by Gettelmen and staff.

couldn't agree more.

This is unprofessional garbage and has no upside.

He does have a point. The panthers usually never have leaks like this.

It was Gettleman who started the whole damn thing through the media.

It didn't have to play out like this. Don't see the Giants acting that way.

That is my point.

This really never had to get as ugly as it's getting. Then they (the Panthers FO) are letting this drag on for no reason. Which is enabling this situation to get uglier and more played out in the media.

I UNDERSTAND THE DECISION. I only have a problem with the execution of this and wish Gettelmen had handled this better.

This isn't a scrub who never did nothing for the team.

This is best player in team history. A little more discretion would have been better.

Show me a link to any statement from the Panthers that says "we are getting rid of Steve Smith". I have yet to see one official statement regarding impending trade or release from the team of Steve Smith. As far as I can see they haven't said poo about any of their plans.

I'll wait...

Makes you wonder at what point did he decide Steve was out. Why not tell him?

I'm still waiting for someone to show me an official statement from Gettleman or the team that said Steve was "out".

Stands to reason that it was something he had been contemplating for some time. Certainly before the press conference that created this fiasco. I've already accepted the inevitable, I just don't see any need in continuing to drag this thing out further, and further. If there is a book on how not to handle situations like this, Gettleman has been following it to a tee.
