Remember him from combine. Wondered then if he could play safety.

hybrid type player, made for the passing NFL which is so popular now. match him vs TEs and he should stay at LB where he wins. ideal WLB.

I'm gonna just assume you didn't bother reading any of the other posts in this thread.

NFLDC has him ranked as the #10 OLB prospect.

http://www.draftcoun...ankings/OLB.php - hasn't been updated recently.

WalterFB has him as the #13 OLB prospect

from WFB:

"

 Telvin Smith, OLB/S, Florida State
Height: 6-3. Weight: 218.
40 Time: 4.52.
Projected Round (2014): 2-4.

4/12/14: Smith is a linebacker/safety tweener who is a tremendous athlete. He is very fast and improved over his time at Florida State. Smith led the Seminoles' defense in tackles in 2013 with 90. He also had two sacks, 9.5 tackles for a loss, four passes broken up and three interceptions.

Smith blazed an ultra-fast 40-yard dash at the Combine to help cause teams to take notice. For the NFL, he could either add weight for linebacker or drop a few pounds for safety. If Smith does the latter, some teams could view him as a Kam Chancellor-type prospect. "

I think the biggest misconception people have with Gettlemen is that he is drafting  rounds 1-7 for 2014.

10 lbs isn't a big deal. I love his speed and height. My favorite realistic OLB prospect. I just wish he could wear 22 here.

he's undersized for OLB by about 20 lbs. an ideal OLB would weigh 235 to 245 at 6-1 to 6-2 in height

I meant he could easily add weight.

Right because the guy can't put on weight...

Luke had the issue of being undersized in college too. He was able to put on good weight over the course of a year or two.

Telvin Smith is a fantastic player and would thrive at WLB in our system.

Smith is 218 pounds. Two years in the NFL Strength and Conditioning program will put him right around 228-235 lbs. Sooooo... what's the problem here?
