#1975517 "Wins Have To Come... Guys Are Working Hard" - Gross

Posted by The_Mango55 on 01 November 2012 - 06:51 PM

I can't disagree. ThE team hasn't quit yet and it's a credit to their dedication. Most of the team have played hard every game even though there have been some chokes and unlucky breaks.

I don't even know where people get the idea that Cam never studies. Maybe it's because Vince Young and Jamarcus Russell were known to not study, and for some reason they are equating Cam with them. I can't put my finger on what that reason is exactly, I'm sure it will come to me if I think hard enough.

#1969114 We played alot better today. No W though

Posted by The_Mango55 on 28 October 2012 - 07:56 PM

There are only 3 variables on the win loss column, W, L, and T.

Close games count the same as blowouts ultimately, however close games are a much better indicator of future success than blowout losses, and unless you think we should replace the entire roster after every loss it's always good to see signs of improvement even when we lose.

#1968457 Rivera celebrating the FG like a little girl...

I'm not trying to defend him here, but doesn't everyone hate that he isn't emotional? Now he is emotional on the sidelines and we hate that too?

#1968051 Can't believe people blame cam for not having game winning drives

Posted by The_Mango55 on 28 October 2012 - 03:43 PM

That's a cute gif and all but it has nothing to do with today. Also highlights how dumb our play calling is when we don't just run that in with Tolbert or cam.

Can't count how many should be game winning drives he has that were blown by defensive chokes.

#1964017 Actually intelligent analysis of Newton's year (not psychobabble bullpoo)

Posted by The_Mango55 on 26 October 2012 - 09:47 AM

http://www.footballp...teresting-year/

Basically states that he is playing very well on 1st down and average on 3rd down, but very poorly on 2nd down.

He does a little bit of psychoanalysis, but doesn't mention pouting on the sidelines or the superman dance or compare him to Vince Young. Instead, he compares him to Alex Smith, who has claimed that he tried so hard to live up to expectations that he tried to make big things happen on every throw.

He concludes with this awesome statement:

"I also don’t think Newton is getting a lot of help from his coaching staff or his teammates. They shouldn’t be making things so difficult for him; he needs to have more intermediate routes available to him, more checkdown options, and more players who can make big plays after the catch. Carolina strikes me as a team that could be a lot more effective if they used some dink and dunk; if Ron Rivera and Rob Chudzinski don’t fix the offense, the Panthers would be justified in finding some coaches who can."

If he didn't want to be heckled he would have removed his cowgirls jersey.

#1962105 8-8 record and keep Rivera. Or 3-13 and get good draft position?

Posted by The_Mango55 on 24 October 2012 - 09:13 PM

#1961711 Bubble doesn't help black QBs

Posted by The_Mango55 on 24 October 2012 - 03:18 PM

Big Ben has earned the right to call out his OC or HC even.

You speak of what Big Ben has "earned", but what has Chud done to earn being above criticism?

Could you post the article so I don't have to give page views?

#1941392 SI: Cam = Vince Young

Posted by The_Mango55 on 09 October 2012 - 03:49 PM

You mean like Aaron Rodgers did a couple of weeks ago on top of shoving a camera man?

If i recall it got zero attention.

Or like Brady does basically every time he loses? Dude never shakes an opponent's hand after a loss.

Before someone mentions how they can get away with it because they have won the superbowl, shouldn't superbowl winning QBs be expected to show MORE poise in after the game and during a PC than a 23 year old 2nd year player, instead of less?

#1941304 SI: Cam = Vince Young

Posted by The_Mango55 on 09 October 2012 - 03:08 PM

Cam and Vince's career arcs are nothing alike. Vince's rookie numbers were extremely pedestrian. 2200 yards, 51.5% completion percentage, 67 passer rating, and only 12 TDs (more INTs than TDs). But the Titan's D and running game was pretty good so they made the playoffs.

Cam's rookie season saw him amass over 4000 yards, 60% completion percentage (on longer throws), an 85 passer rating and 21 TDs. But the Panthers D couldn't stop a nosebleed and they had a losing record.

#1927084 Saw what Newton was made of today

Posted by The_Mango55 on 30 September 2012 - 04:26 PM

If he didn't fumble on the 3rd down but rather just didn't pick up the first, what's the complaint then?

Exact same result.

Besides Johnson, Cam had the best game of anyone on the team. Does CJ deserve blame for the loss too even during his awesome game because his facemask led to a score?

#1645172 i can't believe nobody's talking about Aaron Rodger's comments on the Giants
