Ray Rice's ko of his fiance on camera is certainly equal to Hardy's incident where a known gold digger starts throwing insane accusations with the only proof being injuries that she herself could've inflicted. Let's not even get into a phone call where you can hear her in the background acting crazy. I just don't see the proof when she avoids police when they arrive, misses court dates, then shows up late describing an unbelievable scene. I understand there are trolls who want to see the Panthers hurt, but this case spits in the eye of so many other domestic abuse cases for women that would've been tossed if not for this being so high profile. Just wish people would read the facts before lynching the guy.
not to be a nattering nabob of negativism, but perhaps this means Getty thinks we'll have to go
cheap on OT in order to afford Cam, Luke, Star and Hardy.
Of course keeping those four is not negative.
I think Gettleman believes Chandler can play LT or RT in the future and getting him cheap now is better than waiting until next year when Chandler plays OT at a high level and commands a starting OT contract. I think Getts is also looking at the strength of OT in the 2015 draft to lock down a high caliber OT for 4 years on a cheap rookie contract.
What's tough is the fact we drafted two players back to back that will demand top dollar because they are two of the top players at their position. I think Star's contract will be more modest in comparison and either Hardy or Johnson wont be here in 2015.
I don't see a role for Bell past this season, I think it's already showing that the athleticism of Chandler is what Getts is looking for on the offensive line and it's something Bell lacks.
From the reports I heard, he threw a 75 yard TD bomb to Kelvin Benjamin into triple coverage while dragging both Hardy and Johnson behind him. He then ran a 98 yard TD trucking Lotulelei, Davis and Kuechly on his way to the endzone.
Great signing, call it a hunch, but everytime I watch Chandler move I see the footwork of a LT. We'll see how it all pans out, but I've thought for the past year that Chandler could step in better as an OT than a OG. It seems Gettleman is trying to build an athletic offensive line when 4 out of 5 guys are more than capable of pulling, Bell being the exception.
The real interesting cap figure to watch will be Jimmy Graham if he wins arbitration. The Saints have less than $2 million in cap space and have Graham franchised as a TE at $7 million. If he wins, he'll get $12.5 million. That's $5.5 million that the Saints will have to find room for or sign Graham to the most expensive TE in history and backload his deal like every other player they've signed. Their only option is to restructure contracts since they've already cut most of the cap saving players. All I can say is that the Saints are screwed if the cap doesn't expand at a decent rate over the next 5 years.
I'm sure Madden will make the Panthers a 75 on Offense, 78 on Defense while the Patriots will be 95 on Offense and 92 on Defense. They'll also make sure Cam is slow as a slug while RG III runs a 4.1 40 with an amputated leg while dragging 11 players behind him.
