#3102025 We're not going to the playoffs

Posted by ThPantherFan on Yesterday, 06:03 PM

Always hope, my friends, always hope.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if the Panthers won out, got into the playoffs and WON the Superbowl.  Quit laughing!  It could happen.

The article linked in the OP addresses some of that (people thought his offense became predictable) but also says this season has gone a long way toward rebuilding his reputation.

Some excerpts...

This last passage is especially interesting...

That's eye opening.

That's some good information.  I appreciate the thought you give to your post.  We're lucky to have you on here.  YOU THE MAN!

I still hold out hope for Rivera.  I'm in the minority, I know.

Didn't think he did so well in Texas.  Maybe I'm missing something.

More math than I feel like looking at right now.  However, this bottle of Glenfiddich looks mighty good.  Come here darling.

I too believe he will lead this team to a superbowl.  I also agree that it depends on if Cam sill stay.  All bad plays today were not all on Cam's shoulder.

What pocket?

Ha!  I was thinking the same thing as I came upon your post.

#3084291 Ryan Kalil's cap figure next year is 11+m

Posted by ThPantherFan on 12 November 2014 - 02:56 PM

he has been as disappointing as all the other linemen including Bell and Chandler. only slightly better than Amini

I don't think that is correct.  Kalil has done his best.  What do you expect when he is watching the weak links on the line.  Both sides of the line he has to keep a watch on.  Give him a break.

#3083501 1 to 2, 2 to 1, and the players we must cut asap..

Posted by ThPantherFan on 12 November 2014 - 06:24 AM

I've given some thoughts and rewatched games, etc.  I'm starting to lean in the direction of football basics (tackling especially) coverage, endurance, as the problem.  That is a coaching problem.  This isn't necessarily Rivera either.  Yes, he is the ultimate, I agree and blame should be shared.  When players don't tackle, cover receivers, get down field with energy to make necessary cuts, etc. then the basics are falling off.  The coaching staff needs to get those issues corrected.  We have talent on the team and good coaching can make that talent great.

Whaattt?

#3074557 So who still believes in the Panthers this season?

Posted by ThPantherFan on 09 November 2014 - 07:00 PM

Did you have faith in 2010 when we were 1-10?

Yes.

Glad I finally registered this week to get the all pro stuff after lurking for like 5 years

He's going to ban anyone with 4 posts or less.  Just kidding.

Too many idiots allowed to roam free.

There will be bans.

You've said that before.

#3039549 How do you feel as a Panthers fan if John Fox and the Broncos win the superbowl?

Posted by ThPantherFan on 24 October 2014 - 03:00 AM

'A punt is a good play' keeps me focused on Fox ability to coach.  If you all remember the Panthers made a lot of punts that year.  If Denver wins the SB I wouldn't relate it to John Fox's ability as a coach.  I think his mild mannered coaching ability is what Manning needed to direct the offensive line as he deems fit.  Manning and Elway coach the Broncos.

#3036571 Division Title at 7-8-1?

Posted by ThPantherFan on 22 October 2014 - 03:34 AM

Three years from now when we remember this team as the first team to ever win b2b NFCS and the first Panther team with b2b winning seasons, is anyone really going to remember how bad we were?

I agree.  Win is a win and if the division is won with 8, so be it.  It's happened before.
