Love the Panthers. Been a Duke fan since the Alaa Abdelnaby days. Former HUGE Charlotte Hornet fan. Love the Hurricanes. Also enjoy following Canes prospects wherever they may be. I want to like the Bobcats it's just very hard to and I can't explain why...
Despite the allegiances to my school, i've long felt an attachment to ECU for some reason... even after the ass whupping ya'll put on us, i'm riding with ya'll for football season this year.
I meant to say this a few weeks ago after watching him a few games, including the VT game, but am I the only one who sees a lot of Brees in Carden?
I grew up a duke fan and went to ECU. The only time I don't root for UNC is when they are playing my team.
On the Brees and Carden thing....I never saw it but you are 100% spot on. As a fan I have all the confidence in the world in him. I see a nice long career for him in the nfl once he gets adjusted which may take a few years. Hopefully he doesn't go to an awful franchise.
They have (on paper) the best athletes in the AAC. They just haven't been able to put it together.
This definitely feels like it could be ECU's annual "WTF" game. But I am confident that if we come out and play hard, we win big.
I don't think ECU is just going to run through South Florida. This is a team that went to Wisconsin and played them pretty tough. ECU's defense also gave up 24 points to a SMU team that had only managed 12 points in its first 4 games combined. USF has also had a week off to prepare.
38-21 ECU pulls away in the 4th.
This is not the same USF that got them into the Big East. I agree ECU historically has a WTF game but I think that game was last week in which we pulled out a W. I also think their performance vs USC was a WTF game. I feel ECU is the better team and would beat USC if they somehow face them in a bowl. Regarding the 24 points given up to SMU, yes that was a surprise but it looks like SMU finally found their starting QB and is settling down after the coaching turmoil earlier in the season. Regarding a week off to prepare, I am not sure that will get them anywhere. An entire year and "revenge" games don't work against ECU. Having an extra week to prepare I think has more impact in the NFL than college football.
This statement was just mentioned on CNN and by their anchor on Twitter.
"@Rachel__Nichols: Too early to know what the 'right' decision is on Hornets Jeff Taylor. Not enough info yet. But NBA needs to show it takes this seriously."
fuging cut him now before we have to have the Hornets mentioned all over the news like the Panthers. I swear to god if someone makes the connection we have had players from two different franchises get arrested for DV, I'll scream. I can hear the headlines now "Does Charlotte have a Domestic Violence problem?"
Not to diminish the crime but this will be the year of DV. This will soon consume the NBA season once it starts. I can see it now. By the way anyone heard from Al or Jesse? They standing up for women? No? Hmmmm.....
Yeah relevant prob wasn't a good word to use because even after the ass kicking of UNC, still no one is talking about them. This has to be the year for the pirates because things are going to change next year.
I disagree, I firmly believe Ruffin has changed the culture of the program. They have shown they can develop players. I would argue that their best WR is a true freshman named Trevon Brown. Their WR corp is deep. Hence they lose a guy for 2 games who had 220 or so yards against VT. The ECU offense obviously didn't skip a beat. I know it is hard for UNC fans to accept this but ECU has taken over as the premier program in the state. Only a matter of time before the recruiting really kicks in. Combine that with real coaching and player development.....watch out....I see a phase of UNC being afraid to schedule ECU...
I never mentioned anything about him being drafted high, but I think he has more ability than our current CBs and could capitalize with his speed and ball hawking ability when a qb throws a not so good pass under pressure from our front 7
You have good points. I must have mentally taken that from someone else's post. He may flourish here. Just can't envision gettleman doing this. Think they would trade for OL if anything and I don't even see him doing that. Going after MC has raiders written all over it.
No that title is not a typo....Yep...finally some respect for ECU. Link below. I also appreciate the writer calling out the lousy additions to the ACC over ECU. I know the ACC will never let ECU in. The other NC schools have nothing to gain and would only lose even more to ECU. We have gotten the short end of the stick in the conference shake down. But we will still kick almost any team in the ACC's @ss.
It's good but it's not as good as you saw today, hell even Liberty put up 30 points on that Tar Heel defense.
If you are saying ecu won't put up almost 800 yards of offense and score 10 touchdowns every week you would be correct. However, to say that ecu is not capable of that any week would be a mistake. They have been putting up prolific numbers for several years. They run a good program and now the recruiting is showing. They have a very good defense, a seasoned future nfl quarterback in carden, and so many weapons on offense that they remind me of the greatest show on turf. Several of those wr's will be playing on Sundays. To say otherwise just tells me you don't watch ecu, which is ok. Not all are fit for the pirate life!
Observation...is it my sheer joy or does ECU have a better receiving corp than some NFL teams? There are so many big and fast guys waiting in the wings to replace Hardy and Worthy I am just ecstatic. Trevon Brown.....what a way to deliver! I was already excited about Isaiah Jones...but Brown being a true freshman.....WOW!
