Just sayin

tons of talent but was pretty much into himself. Great start to career but never grew much as QB. What do ya/ll think?

For Brooks, the high point in his career with the Saints* came very early. In the 2000 season, his first with the franchise, In his first NFL start, Brooks led the Saints* to a 31-24 victory over the defending Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams on the road, becoming the first QB in NFL history to accomplish that feat (defeating the previous year's Super Bowl winner on the road in first career NFL start). Brooks led the team to a l 10-6 record (improving on their 3-13 record of 1999), winning the NFC West championship. Brooks threw nine touchdowns and six interceptions in eight games and five starts in the regular season for an 85.7 quarterback rating. In the playoffs, the Saints* defeated the defending Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams, 31-28. The Saints* were without their star running back (Ricky Williams) and lost their best receiver (Joe Horn) early in the game, but Brooks threw four touchdown passes to lead the Saints* to their first playoff win in franchise history, becoming the first QB in NFL history to eliminate the defending Super Bowl champions in his first career postseason start.

Interesting how things have turned

26 June 2012 - 02:25 PM

As each day goes by the NFL looks more and more like they were way out of line in their accusations toward the Saints*. People like Mike Florio (attorney and commentator) is questioning the ethics of Roger Goodell and if he has bumbled this entire process. The public is now supporting the players as the lack of real evidence is alarming. So called witnesses stating that the NFL twisted their statements. The Saints* fans http://www.nola.com/...has_fanned.html and team are rallied like never before and are on a mission to win a Super Bowl played in their home town with a defense vastly improved and the most explosive offense in history returning everyone along with new additions. Brees about to get his contract finished. Who would have thought that with all of the off season issues that the Saints* would be in the position they are today? It just goes to show you that people should always let things play out before rushing to judgement.

So proud of how the players and fans have not allowed the bully process to go unchallenged and looking forward to another Lombardi trophy in the big easy!

This is not a New Orleans reporter or Saints* fan writing this article.
The sentiment against the Saints* and Saints* players is turning in the opposite direction...
