Cam is getting paid regardless of how he performs this year. Delaying it another year won't effect that, but it will save the team another year of cap. Allowing Getts some relief from our RB contracts, ridiculous dead money hits, and very possibly CJs contract.

Godfrey getting cut is a forgone conclusion unless he flat out takes a paycut - no restructures here.

In Topic: So........... was keeping Hardy worth all this?

15 March 2014 - 08:16 AM

gano + hardy + bell + scott + anderson + williams + brockel OR ginn + mitchell + hixon + cap + senn ???

hardy influenced the contracts given to cap&mitchell and in a way gano did this same for senn&ginn. ST players value is hurt due to all the touchbacks. plus with the league scoring more punt returners are less valueable too.

the super smart front office people say after finding a QB, DL is the next hardest.

if hardy resigns for long term it was worth it, if not i'll join all the cry babies and bitach about dave.

If Hardy is signed long term, we will have won (in the long run). This year won't be pretty. We don't have enough cap space to fill in all the holes in the secondary.

My biggest concern is the OL, as it takes time for that unit to develop chemistry. Consistancy is more important there than anywhere else on the field. I'd be okay with a rookie LT as athleticism helps alot, but I really would like to see a veteran upgrade at RG.  I do not trust Kugbila at all. If they go into the season with him as the starter, things might unravel pretty quickly. And it's time for Amini to step up at LG. Going into his third season, he can't keep making the same mental mistakes. Unfortunately, being injury prone, he may not have seen the reps needed to develop properly - he's off schedule.

Cam has another year of experience under his belt. Honestly, this kid improves every season - amazing considering what he did his rookie year. The offense will go as the OL goes. If they play average to above average, Cam, DWill, Stew, Olsen and Tolbert will draw a lot of attention, and those young WRs will have favorable match ups.

I've just burned my fourth bowl. I've never in my life smoked angry. I need to lay down.

Smoking angry!

Hard times indeed good sir... hard times.

He said the whole 'blood and guts everywhere' before, right before the 49ers playoff game. How'd that go? I love the guy, but you people that are rooting for him to come back here and hang a bunch of points on us are ridiculous.

I don't think anyone here is rooting for him to score a bunch of points on the Panthers.

I'm willing to bet most are primarily joking around. I know I am.

Smitty has been my favorite player for some time, primarily because he's been the best player on the team I root for.

Once I see him in a new uniform, I'm sure that'll begin to change and he'll slowly become just Steve Smith, WR for team X.

But for now, he's still Smitty, the most exciting Carolina Panther ever.

Like footnotes or annotated bibliography?

You'd have to ask him.

I'm sure he could point you in the right direction.
