#3223755 Rivera up for Coach of the Year Again

Posted by the_philosopher on 29 January 2015 - 09:23 PM

We got absolutely blown out 6 times this year, and Cam Newton is our quarterback. That's not a good season of coaching however you spin it.

That catch in the back of the end zone was insane. One foot out, but heck of a catch.

Yeah I'm sick of the Williams hate. Stewart needs the most snaps Saturday night no doubt, but he Williams was actually running better than Stewart the first few games and not not near as terrible the other games as everyone makes him out to be. He looked quick the other night. I'm glad he's ready to play.

UPDATED THROUGH WEEK 17 - END OF SEASON

Well, I kept my huddle promise, and now my work is done. Thanks to all those who followed along and sustained me with delicious pie.

Developments:

  • Benjamin dropped his way to 2nd place, leaving 89 at the top (where he deserves to be).
  • Still, what a heck of a rookie season for Benjamin!
  • Cotchery had a very good season in my opinion despite his absence in the red zone.
  • Poor, poor Ted Ginn.post-12988-0-10557000-1419870288.png

UPDATED THROUGH WEEK 16

Developments:

  • Not much to talk about here; Benjamin almost got to 1000 yards, but we'll have to wait until next week.
  • Nicks put up good numbers in a blowout loss to move ahead of Philly Brown.
  • Poor Ted Ginn has suited up for all 15 games and has 6 more targets than Brenton Bersin.
  • One more week, and my Huddle duties are complete.post-12988-0-98296000-1419278972.png

UPDATED THROUGH WEEK 15

455448840-cam-newton-and-jerricho-cotche

We're celebrating this week on the WR Stat Tracker!!! Our red zone specialist scored his touchdown with two games to spare!

Developments:

  • Touchdown!!!! (Jokes aside, I think Cotchery has been a very good possession receiver this year outside the red zone.)
  • Benjamin trades places with 89 again.
  • It's going to take 2 very good games at this point for Lafell to end up with 1000 yards, but it's possible. I don't think anyone (especially our GM) thought Benjamin/Smith/Lafell were all 1000 yard receivers.
  • While Bersin did not add to his receptions this week, he did actually return a punt!post-12988-0-81984600-1418658512.png

Awesome. Miss that guy. All things Steve Smith are Panther related in my book.

"Roman Harper has played very well for us." -Rivera on safety position.

Please tell me this was taken out of context! Maybe the whole quote was "Roman Harper has played very well for us...a lot less than he's played poorly for us."

We will all look back at this year and realize Brenton Bersin was our punt returner.

Wait...he actually returns them sometimes?

UPDATED THROUGH WEEK 12

Developments:

  • Big games by both Smith and Lafell this week. I'd say the release of Steve Smith is now indefensible, and I used to defend it.
  • Edit: In case you didn't notice, Smith leads the group in receptions and yards per reception. And he's not even the clear-cut #1 receiver on his team. It sure would be nice to have him as our "#2."
  • Cotchery caught just as many TDs on the bye week as has every other week.post-12988-0-92808100-1416938623.png
