#2955140 So after two weeks...

Posted by Panthersguru14 on 15 September 2014 - 12:31 PM

Love the 10.5 ppg allowed stat. That's what really matters and it helps our offense knowing they don't have to score every possession. ie saints, cowboys, giants, etc.

Love this thread and I really like Collins from LSU and depending on where we pick I like the safety's out of LSU and Alabama.

I haven't seen some of these picks but I REALLY like this and think it's more accurate because of it's balance

If this happened I would be ecstatic considering it would really help at some serious areas of need

Would love the free agency pickups. I have no issue with verrett because he is the smoothest corner in the draft I think.

Like I've said previously this offseason could go a lot of different ways and I'd be happy

Love it although I don't know if nicks is possible we could always go after a cheaper wr but I love the draft!

#2666688 Does Jordan Gross' retirement make you want to pursue Jonathon Martin?

Posted by Panthersguru14 on 26 February 2014 - 08:48 AM

Just saw a report that he doesn't want to return to Miami. Don't know how much truth there is to it but it's not unrealistic at all. With both of our starting tackles in either free agency or retiring, do you think that Gman pursues a trade of some sort with Miami.

Cooks to me. I really want us to draft him at 28 even with the loss of Gross.

What's Interesting is his WR rankings!

#2655056 Draft Questions, Answers starting this weekend

It is ironic that all of the needs we have (other than safety) are really deep this year and can give us the opportunity to find gems late.

Posted by Panthersguru14 on 13 February 2014 - 12:22 AM

I would be ecstatic if this happened. My biggest issue with this is the serious doubt that we will be able to tag and trade Hardy. It's a great thought but it would require a team that is really anxious to get him and not patient enough to wait and bid for him next year.
I'm not saying it won't but I'll be slightly surprised if it does.
But even without Matthews in this draft I love it!

I would love every part of this. I have zero complaints

Great job putting this together! However, here's the problem I see.

1) If we sign Nicks and Tillman as FA's why would we then draft a WR and CB as our top 2 picks?
2) Keeping Hardy and signing our FA's and the ones you mentioned is next to impossible.
3) Cutting Williams makes drafting a RB a priority, Stewart and Barner at the top of the depth chart makes our Offense worse.

I would prefer Moses at #28 or trading down for a second and third, then get a WR, RB, OT and CB. So much depends on FA signing period but it will give us a better idea of the draft.

To me Tillman is a temporary band aid because of his age and expense and smith will retire soon and we will need a guy who can step in within the next 2 years. That's why you draft a CB and a WR so they have time to grow and aren't pressured to produce instantly.

#2630721 Nobody is talking DE in the first?

Posted by Panthersguru14 on 25 January 2014 - 03:19 PM

I'm all for a DE if Hardy is not retained, but not in the first round.

We have like three guys that are ready to contribute on the roster right now: Alexander, Horton, and Addison.

Also, we'd be rather smart to go after a FA like Willie Young.

This draft is deep everywhere you look at. We'll still be able to find a talented DE in the 3rd round to develop: Marcus Smith, Kareem Smith, Ed Stinson, Aaron Lynch, etc.

I agree I will rage if we go DE in the first. Since we have plenty I capable guys already on the roster.

Hardy: I don't want to think about a tag and trade because I don't know how realistic it is or isn't but we don't have the funds to resign him after a monster year.
Bell, Brockell, Byers, Campbell, Dockery, Hangartner, Hixon, Lafell, Munnerlyn, and Gary Williams.

Anderson, Cole, Florence, Gano, Ginn, Gross, Mitchell, Mikell, and Wharton

Jared Allen: Cheaper and shorter term than what Hardy will want.

1st Taylor Lewan 6-7 315 lbs OT Michigan- This guy is a potential LT of the future that finds himself falling because his team wasn't as good and he has an attitude problem sometimes. I think we get a steal here!

2nd Paul Richardson 6-1 172 lbs WR Colorado- Not a huge receiver but he's the best available with very good speed. Could be a steal that falls because he's from a small school.

3rd Aaron Colvin 6-0 192 lbs Oklahoma- We have to bolster the back 4 and this is a good start.

4th Seantrel Henderson 6-7 345 lbs OT Miami- This is a great developmental right tackle that may be able to contribute immediately.

5th Vinnie Sunserie 6-0 210 SS Alabama- He's injured but after he's recovered he could be a really good asset to have.

6th Deion Belue 5-11 183 CB Alabama- A late flyer on a guy who could contribute early. Alabama plays a zone scheme and he could come and play since we may or may not bring back some of the vet defensive backs.

7th L'Damion Washington 6-4 205 lbs WR Missouri- A big receiver who's unpolished but who has all the physical assets you want.

Potential Starting lineup:
QB: Newton
RB: Williams/ Stewart barner
FB: Tolbert
LT: Gross
LG: Amini
C: Kalil
RG: Wharton
RT: Lewan/ Chandler
WR 1: Nicks/Richardson/ Ginn
WR 2: Smith/ King/ Washington
TE: Olsen/

DE: Johnson/ Alexander
DT: Lotulelei/Cole
DT: Short/Edwards
DE: Allen/ Addison
OLB: Davis
MLB: Kuechly
OLB: Klein
CB: Florence/ Colvin
SS: Mikell/ Lester
FS: Mitchell/ jones
CB: White/ Belue
