#2763424 Panthers meet with Ryan Shazier

We've gone long enough without putting something decent on offense for Cam this would be a ridiculous draft pick look at how other teams have gone out of their way to make sure their franchise qbs have multiple weapons and a good o line. If you want to replace td do it in the later rounds next years draft or fa but not before we get cam some weapons I will be so pissed if this is the pick

I think you have to take into account that the panthers will be picking at 28th with no chance in hell of moving up. With this pick you can't take a chance at drafting a 2nd round type talent when there is still plenty of sure fire 1st round talent still on the board. No one is saying that Shazier is guaranteed to be there at that pick but if he is how could you not pick him over some potential early 2nd round OT or WR talent that could easily be found towards the end of the 2nd as well? I would be ecstatic if we landed Moses at OT or Cooks/Beckham at WR in the 1st but you got to prepare for that talent to be off the board and look into the potential talent that could be there instead.

that's the thing, i don't see the available options as being much lesser players, esp. considering the impact it would make to a position that is in dire straights like OL is.

tell me the truth, would a "blue chip" player at a position that isn't likely to be a need for the next couple years worth sacrificing the opportunity to make a significant upgrade to the big uglies and not only protect cam, but open up the run game? what is likely to make the bigger difference overall? a guy who is likely to see the field maybe 30-40 plays a game the first couple years or a guy who will be helping the OL for all but a few snaps a game right out of the gate?

Who is that guy though? Who is this OT worthy of a pick at 28 that is leaps and bounds better than the talent that we could pick up towards the back of the 2nd round? You keep putting emphasis on the position without listing players worthy of the pick. I understand that we need a Tackle and we need it bad but all the talent worthy of a 1st round OT pick is not going to be there while the talent in later rounds could be considered interchangeable. This logic also applies to the WR position as well. When it comes to Shazier he is a great player that could make a huge impact down the road and you aren't going to find that kind of talent in later rounds.

I grew up going to Panthers games with my father in section 548 row 14. Amazing seats and the sun never was too much of an issue. Even the walk to the seats wasn't even that bad. I can easily remember that feeling though when you walk through the tunnel and see the entire bowl. It's such a great feeling and I cant wait to do it again this Sunday with my Dad in section 536.
