#3321164 Crabtree signs with Raiders

Crabtree would have easily been the second best WR on our roster. Easily

#3311844 Another Mock for Your Consideration...

Posted by AceBoogie on 04 April 2015 - 11:49 AM

Honestly until we met with him, I hadn't even considered Goldman at all. But after thinking about it and remembering another time when we had a dominant middle of the Dline when we had Jenkins and Buckner in the middle. I think that Goldman and Star could be that good in the future. I would give up a first rounder for another potential Kris Jenkins with a better work ethic. Jenkins was a beast when he got mad and motivated. Imagine someone who would bring that kind of intensity regularly.

His name is KK, and he's already on the roster. I swear Gettleman could draft a horse to play kicker in the first round and you guys would gush about how strong the horse's legs are.

#3309751 Panthers should draft a QB in 2015

Posted by AceBoogie on 02 April 2015 - 09:55 AM

If we draft a QB like Mannion, and I see it as a real possibility, we would probably stash him on the IR or cut Webb.  The point here is not that we need a backup QB, it is that we need a backup plan.

Nobody here knows what the Cam camp is asking for and few here think about the big picture when benevolently agreeing to pay certain players a kajillion dollars to play.

Not many people realize this, but Gettlemen has to do the negotiations and he has limited funds.  I am convinced that drafting Ealy was to level the tables in the Hardy situation--or simply to get cheaper there.  I think he is looking for a LDE in this draft to release the team from CJ's stranglehold on the cap.  If we draft a Petty or a Mannion, then we know that a) we are drafting a backup QB when we don't seem to need one, and B) we can anticipate a brutal contract negotiations, because that move alone might raise the stakes a bit.  With franchise tagging, etc., the qb search and development could go on for a few years.

I like the idea because I am not sure that Cam's contractual demands will be what Carolina is willing to pay.   Even if Cam signs a 5-year deal, a good preseason or two out of Mannion and we have trade bait.

WOW did you suggest Cam is future train bait?

edit-nevermind, I see what you're saying

The notion that a team is going to give Derek a legitimate chance to start is just ridiculous. He had a chance to leave and he didn't, no team is looking at DA as a starter.

#3307444 Hot take on Cam Newton

Posted by AceBoogie on 31 March 2015 - 06:28 PM

Aceboogie Jr. is going to do an response editorial on how Cam is the greatest QB ever, he just needs a pro-bowler at every position on the OL and 3 HOF WRs and the world will see!

Just need his primary target in the Redzone in a playoff game not come from Wofford. That's all

God I hope another team picks Gurley before us...

I just don't get that pick. This board has been bitchin for years about paying running backs, but now they want another in the first round.

#3305373 Was beating Atlanta worth dropping 17 selections in the draft?

Posted by AceBoogie on 30 March 2015 - 11:37 AM

why are the continuous losers like jags raiders bucs ect. always picking in the top ten and still sucking with all those top ten picks?

Simple, they don't have a QB.

#3304707 Panthers Win Super Bowl IF?

The team one day decides to maximize Cam's talent the way the Colts have. Everything the Colts have done from coaching staff, to talent acquisition has been done to make sure Andrew Luck is successful.

But we plan on paying a QB 100 million to be a game manager. If your QB is going to make that much money you're going to start needing to get serious. But we have a Ferrari using Dollat store oil, while screaming the Ferrari needs to be more consistent....right.

#3301011 same as last year, Rivera says Cam has got to become a more sound QB

What is Mike Wallace? Jarvis Landry is no scrub either and you're forgetting Cam didn't play two games that would have been stat stuffers

Can anyone name any weapon on the Dolphins team? Ryan F'ing Tannehill, passed for more yds, higher completion %, threw for more TDs and had a higher rate than Cam with a far worse oline. But yeah, it's weapons.

Did he have offseason ankle surgery? Have a WR group that had never caught a pass from him in a NFL game?

#3300994 same as last year, Rivera says Cam has got to become a more sound QB

I have actually said he needed more help in the past. My point is with some posters there will never be enough "help".

All I heard in 2013 was that Lafell was the problem. I guess Brady didn't get that memo.

Our offense was about as bad in 2013 before the great WR purge and Bell/Chandler experiment.

I'm not saying it is all Cam's fault but I have my doubts that fixing our offense is as easy as signing some "2" receiver. I think it is a combination of QB play, surrounding talent, and coaching.

My god people. Let's clear this Lafell poo up right now. Lafell is a professional football player that gets paid is he not allowed to improve? He's improved every year he's been in the league, but everyone wants to give Brady all the credit.

He averaged 12.8 yards per catch with Cam in 2013 and 12.9 with Brady last year. He had 5 tds with Cam and 7 with Brady. The only difference in the Lafell with Cam and the Lafell with Brady is that Tom Brady throws the damn ball more than Cam giving Lafell more receptions and yardage. Everything else is virtually identical.
