Late in the game and time is running out........

05 January 2014 - 10:42 AM

I have a question for all of you.................it pertains to when a team has a lead with only 1 or 2 points and the opposing team has the ball with anywhere from 3 to 4 minutes left in the game with the intend to go down the field use up the clock and kick a FG to win............

Now this is what we had with the Philly game last night when the Saints had the ball...........

Once the Saints were in field goal range you know they would just keep a conservative run game going to eat the clock up getting closer and closer if possible for a chip shot field goal with no time left on the clock.

At that point in the game it is near impossible for Philly to change their fate...........

Except for this.............its bold and very risky but do you want a chance to win the game or not??

When there is still 2 to 3 minutes left on the clock and the Saints are in FG range why not just let them score a touchdown and get the ball back for at least the chance to drive and win or tie with a TD.

Now some of you will say that is foolish but is it???

How foolish is it to just watch them eat the clock................

I'd rather have one chance with 2 minutes left on the clock to tie or win the game with a TD with an extra point conversion or two point conversion if needed.........than to die a millions deaths by paper cuts trying to sack Saints out of a FG range when they are just running the ball.......

Is this nuts or is there a time when everything Is on the line to take such a risk??

When we played Atlanta this is exactly the fate we were facing except Atlanta wasn't in FB range yet but we luck out with that crazy center snap............

Your thoughts......

What do you think Gettleman is up to right now?

31 December 2013 - 02:26 PM

With the announcement that Dave Gettleman is going to throw his hat into the ring this post season on game planning I wonder at this very moment what he is up to?

I'll bet he will be using the Art of War approach by Sun Tzu................

Maximize your strengths and minimize your weakness..............use deception where ever possible......know you enemy better than you know yourself, etc.

I know if I was him I'd be sitting down with the Oline and saying, "Okay I have all these ideas.......which do you think you can execute reliability?"

I wonder if he has any old scout friends of other playoff teams who like to small talk about a playoff team they used to work that they still know a lot about?

Hehe.........are we in for some surprises this post season?

Could be fun.............

What do you think?

How many Panther fans were there by percentage?

30 December 2013 - 12:26 AM

Can someone make a guess how many Panther fans were in the Peach Pit dome during the game?

It sounded impressive at times on TV..............

So was there more than 10 percent?.......Less than 10 percent?

How many do you estimate you saw by percentage..................just curious.

What unis do we wear today?

29 December 2013 - 10:13 AM

Curious would we be wearing all whites today?

and when we are at home what determines (other than the heat) what uniforms we wear.........I never understood at home how that is determined.

Each division has teams that do not have a SB......

27 December 2013 - 07:40 PM

If my stats are right...........every division in the NFL has at least one if not two teams yet to win a super bowl.

Would anyone care to guess what division may be the first one to have every team a super bowl winner in it?
