By the way, you guys DO know the money is provide renovations to Bank of America stadium, right? Jesus Christ.
Or maybe we should just let the stadium go to waste, have Richardson die, and be a huge candidate to move without a better/new stadium in the works, right? Then again, with the way people on this site constantly whine about every little thing including this, maybe that is what you guys want.
I see your point but Im tired of the owners constantly threatening the public that they will move their franchise to LA if we dont give them what they want. The reason there is no team there is because the league\owners will no longer be able rattle their local community. Once a team is there it will all go away...
If the Panthers want to throw away what they have here in the loyal (cough) PSL holders, the local TV deal, and JR's stadium and be that team, then let them leave... no big deal to me, Fug em... The only reason I follow them is because I live in Charlotte... It sure as hell aint because they are a winner...
And yes, city council will come runnin to provide whatever JR asks for... Just another instance of the panthers organization screwing the community and not giving us a quality product for our dollars...
Accept it, we are fugged... RR will be back next year. If nothing else JR will use the recent "success" as a reason not to fire him because he really dosent want to pay him and not be here. He also knows the fans will drink the kool-aid this off season and show up again next season with tickets in hand, wearing a new Panthers hat and T-shirt, ready to buy his beer and leave BofA stadium dissappointed again. Same old Panthers, year after year after year...
what exactly has he done to prove he's not? he was a low profile Panthers FO guy till Hurney got fired, we basically know nothing of the guy at this point and anyone that claims otherwise I lol @.
As I said in my other post I don't really care who we get for GM, as long as he ends up being the right guy. and at this point it's anyones guess.
I think the point here that everyone is trying to make is that they are tired of the "what ifs, maybes, and wait and sees" regarding this franchise. It wouldnt be a big deal if the front office had been more successful in their decision making over the years but by the time they accept\realize that the wrong choice was made another few seasons will have passed. OR in Hurney's case, a DECADE.
i try to avoid name brand stuff b/c most of the time you are just paying for the name...esp. clothes.
had a friend that made it a point to remove every logo from every piece of equipment he had...cars, tools, lawn mowers...everything. said that if they wanted him to market their name they should pay him. he said it was stupid for people to pay to market someone else's crap. i wish i cared enough to do the same, but i see his point.
Yeah, i see his point but I agree with you. Im not going to take the time to debadge my Kobalt tools, Craftsman lawn mower and Toro weed eater. I seriously doubt me trolling my yard while cutting my grass is impacting their sales numbers. lol!
Im hoping that Hurneys absence and a new GM that knows what he is doing will make an immediate impact on the field, locker room and fans. Picking quality players (outside the 1st round) that can help in their rookie year will be a huge difference in changing our culture.
Actually hitting on a higher percentage of our picks will help a lot, rather than drafting projects that take years to see if they will pan out (AE) or drafting a D-III O-lineman and expecting him to be the same "Road Grater" that he was while at Midwestern State.
Most of the time when we have a thread going like this is one lonely guy getting his ass handed to him for not supporting a team that is not only losing but also not holding anyone accountable for the continued failures. He is commonly known as a "Bad Fan or not a True Fan". I call him smart! What kind of dumb-ass continues to support a franchise that is content with losing as long as the tickets are sold?
I think what has Panthers fans so pissed this time around is not that we lose some games but because our front office is directly responsible for this poo storm via controlled chaos. Marty was well aware of what he was doing when trading our picks and not filling areas of need via FA. All while JR turned a blind eye and sat back on his golf cart believing that his brand was indestructible while allowing his money, our financial and emotional investments to all be abused. This is all tied back to one overly emotional and clingly sports writer's inability to evaluate NFL caliber talent. You only have yourself the thank for this one JR, Marty should have never been your guy in the first place!
Oh, and thank the PSL holders for floating your boat the since Jakes collapse! Cant forget the little guys, right JR! (wink)
1) Charlotte is a city of transplants who are loyal to the teams they grew up with. 2) Not every Carolina native dropped their favorite team to support the upstarts. Love and loyalty run deep in many fans. 3) If the team were more successful the youth of the area would jump aboard. No one likes a loser.
Very well said... I have no idea why people cant comprehend this logic. Here are a few reasons why more Carolinians and transplants dont leave the teams they have grew up with.
1)The Panthers are a young franchise. (17 years)
2)The Panthers are a losing franchise.
3)Team is totally irrelevant and gets 0 coverage by the national media outlets.
4)We never make a splash in free agency to get relevant players to generate buzz and help us win.
5)Consistently make bone headed decisions in the draft
6)The front office refuses to address known issues and just roll with what the have on the roster
7)Hold on to sub-par or injury prone players because the are nice people
8)Ownership and 90% of fans settle for mediocrity the other 10% gets blasted when they expose facts
9)Foxys 9 years stretch of boring brand of football
10)Riveras poor coaching staff the last 2 years
11)Never having back to back winning seasons
12)management dosent hold Coaches and Coaches dont hold players accountable for poor performance.
13)The franchise is too soft for hardcore NFL fans. Fans of good franchises laugh at us.
14)Never haveing a true face of the franchise until Cams arrival.
15)The environment at our stadium is too family focused in the upper levels and Wine & Cheese in the lower levels.
Sorry, guys I got carried away... I had to vent my frustration, Im sure all you long time Panthers fans understand.
RR could run the table and he would still get his walking papers... His incompetence and lack of leadership skills are evident. I think today's beating sealed his fate because of the embarrasment that JR suffered at the hands of Foxy.
Its clear the RR is in over his head and the fanbase is in a critical state right now. Jerry knows that he has to get this team turned around ASAP to retain the fans support and convince Cam that he is committed to winning. The entire fanbase is pissed and rightfully so... JR is on the clock!
