#3314231 National Championship thread - Duke vs Wisconsin

Duke attempted 57 free throws in the final four. Duke 's
opponents attempted 26. Duke outscored its opponents 43-16
from the line.

There's a reason for that. Physical dominance and aggressively attacking the basket. Better athletes get more free throws.

Winslow is a beast, Cook and Jones are smart guards who know when to slash and Allen has an amazing first step. Then you have Big OKafor who is horrible at free throws and guys try to foul.

Well, I called it.

Duke has better talent. Jefferson and Allen are better than every player on Wisconsin aside from Frank and maybe Decker. Allen's first step, which I brought up in the NCAA Thread, go back and fact check that if you want, was the difference in this game. Jefferson straight up defended Frank. Frank is good but he struggles against quick long defenders like Amile.

Okafor wasn't special tonight but he made two huge plays late in the game.

Tyus Jones is clutch.

This Duke team just had a ton of character. Down 8 points, Okafor in foul trouble, Winslow in foul trouble, Okafor not producing, Winslow not producing, Cook not producing.

Talent usurps experience. Tyus Jones and Allen took this game over. Frank and Decker were supposed to take this game over, this was their time but Jones and Allen would not be denied.

All the haters will point to Mercer and Lehigh. Well I point to Butler and Wisconsin. Every college in this country would sacrifice their children and 401K to get two championships in a 5-6 year span.

Coach K is the best. GTHC

Stop with the ref excuses Dook fans and just enjoy the game, k? It's a great one and will go down to the buzzer.

Excuses? They put Duke's two best players in foul trouble. And call nothing against Wisconsin despite Duke attacking the basket and being better athletes.

Kaminsky can push hack all day and refs just slow clap for him.

'We can't get them to foul us' -Coach K

Oh, they're fouling you coach, we know. Refs just can't blow their whistles is all.

#3313010 What annual income do you consider 'rich'?

Posted by PanthersClinic on 05 April 2015 - 09:37 PM

It depends on if you have kids, are you in debt, etc.

50k for a single guy is rich. 50k for a guy with a few kids and a wife is poverty.

#3312305 Kelvin Benjamin has a new tat

I think it looks ugly. All tattoos are ugly but his is especially ugly. Of course it's his body and his money so he should do what he wants.

I don't see the point of tattoos. People say they represent something or are a reminder of something. Well there are plenty of people WITHOUT tattoos who stand for things and who have memories.

Attractiveness comes from physical health. Clear skin is attractive. Not skin with drawings all over it. Also I think it's mentally unhealthy to willing submit to pain for purposes unrelated to medical care. Tattoos and piercings are a lighter form of self-mutilation.

#3211725 McCarthy was too conservative

Okay, so has anyone mention the fact that when Burnett picked that last INT he slid down.......with FIVE MINUTES left in the game? The heck he think was gonna happen??? Was he told to do that incase of an INT by the coach or something?

He got the ball for his offense. Worst thing that can happen is to fumble the INT away. Of course Seattle players wouldn't go down like that. It's the difference between warriors and pacifists.

#3211308 Russell Wilson is a first ballot hall of famer

Posted by PanthersClinic on 18 January 2015 - 06:36 PM

They don't make a Hall of Fame for players who get carried to Super Bowls by a superior team. Ask Trent Dilfer about that.

Qbs with back-to-back super bowls go to the HOF.

#3211142 I'm starting to have Patroit level hate for the Seahawks

It's not luck.

The fake FG kept them within range, the defense kept them within range. From there you just have to make plays, which they did.

Best pass by Seattle all day on the fake FG.

Wilson is average. He was never a great QB in college & he never will be in the pros.

He's not so hot when his defense isn't shutting out the other team & he can just hand the ball to Lynch. This is probably the first game of his career he's had to throw & come from behind- & he sucks.

Really Manning looked better than both these QBS last week when you take into account all the drops and spotty line play.

Playoff football is about defense.  Seattle hasn't had to deal with much of that playing Washington, Atlanta, NO, Denver - they did have to deal with SF D and won on the last play in that one.

Russell Wilson is struggling... The hall of fame QB has no completions? 0/3

Good thing Wilson is creating turnovers and preventing touchdowns on defense.
