#2960138 The Greg Hardy thread....for everything Hardy related

Look at what the media has created.  They CREATED it.  In their minds.  In their studios.  Beamed to a satellite.  Fed into our homes via a cable wire.  We process their 0s and 1s and it becomes reality.  It becomes truth.  Hardy may well be guilty.  But damn.  Just damn.

and inb4 mindblown, lolwut, etc posts to demean/belittle

edit - and we pay for it lulz

read it fanboys.  than think twice.  if that was someone you knew or cared about you might feel differently.  you kids are what is wrong with this NFL.  i do not care if this was Peyton Manning, Jim Kelly, or anyone else - this is ridiculous.

Ok, I'll bite/help you.  You're really going to BELIEVE in your constitution as a human being that Sports Illustrated is the end all be all of the formulation of your understanding/opinion on this incident?  Where in there have they interviewed Greg Hardy, posted any evidence of said injuries, etc, etc.  Do I really have to hold your hand and lead you to the only official, factually documents available (original sources are out there and very easy to find): the police report, the cause for warrant application, the (dismissed) application for a restraint order against Hardy, and the 911 calls audio and/or transcript.  Hell throw in the twitter court "testimony" and the extremely UN-natural procedure of that 10 hour bench trial and there you go.  LEARN.  READ.  REPEAT.  You'll feel better about yourself once you realize reading and enjoying the entertainment provided by SI/ESPN/MSM and having a fundamental understanding of facts CAN and are mutually exclusive in many cases.  And this is one of them.

You are an idiot.

It was a misdemeanor.  There were NO injuries.......

Not quite a  " beat down".

Don't feed the trolls.  He threw a hanging curve with that comment.  I wish people would just ignore these people because they are already lost.  It is a waste of time trying to EDUCATE those who are either incapable of synthesizing informed opinions or just refuse to.  Ignorance is bliss, eh?

Media will have a field day. "Wife beater bowl"

Let them do it.  Fug this.  I wish Richardson would just hire someone to explain to "the media" at a press conference the legal process in North Carolina.  Explain that Greg Hardy has rights, mob persecution be damned.  Explain that if you are too lazy to research/investigate for yourself and be spoon-fed their BS, then this mob will continue and actually be emboldened.   I wish Big Cat/Rivera would activate Hardy for Week 3 even with Bob Costas covering just to stand up for common fugging sense and make ol' Bob lose his mind on national TV.  He is a face and a voice, a vapid human being.  He receives the most distilled version of things and has a platform to influence an entire swath of America with just a soundbite.  This is so disturbing how this is going down, how people with even a modicum of common sense won't just say, "OK, we freaked out for a week, let's slow our roll" ... but it won't happen methinks. Will it?

Wow.  These are the same people that walk around masquerading as normal, everyday Joes.

#2955362 Rivera coming up on NFL Network to discuss Hardy.

Posted by TimTom on 15 September 2014 - 02:08 PM

What's his sentence then?

60 days suspended and probation. Next?

This sentence, which would most likely also include a No Contact Order, are likely the terms of his Appeal Bond as dictated by North Carolina Code of Law.  His appeal immediately NULLIFIES the bench trial decision (see nullity in the dictionary).  He is now awaiting his jury trial, which is a trial de novo (see new, from Latin, in the dictionary).  No previous decisions hold.  No prior evidence holds.  No testimony, whatever, holds.

Another way to look at it is this: If you look up Greg Hardy in a background check, a public records request, etc, nothing will come up related to this case.  If a police officer runs Greg Hardy's name on the National Criminal Database, the computer in his car which gives more information, it will come back as arrested/charged on the misdemeanors.  No plea, no decision, no sentencing.

His current legal status is neither convicted nor guilty.  His current legal status is PENDING.  That's not just some word or an argument over semantics.  That is his adjudication's current disposition.  And due process is still being administered.  He, being a United States citizen and a legal resident of the state of North Carolina, is innocent until proven guilty.  In this case, his guilt or innocence can ONLY be determined now by a jury trial.

Some helpful links -> NC Publication on Courts (.pdf) or a legal firm's website take on it.

Caveat Emptor - I am not a lawyer.  This is my understanding of the various resources available relative to court proceedings like this.  My understanding could be wrong or, more frankly, just not matter.  I think the latter is the case.

#2954742 One Small Tip for those with Laptops

Posted by TimTom on 15 September 2014 - 10:30 AM

Yes sir. I have, It's what I have.  I can't get rid of it. -_- I seriously don't know what to try next.

1. Is MBAM showing the positive result for the adware?

2. What OS do you have? Windows XP/7/8? etc.

3. What Internet Browser are you using?

Before knowing those, what I might add is that maybe it's just showing a positive for an add-on type thing in your browser software that you can uninstall seperate from the actual uninstall of the original Browser Shop program.

Also, if none of this works, you might want to try using the HijackThis analysis.  You use HijackThis in a prescribed way and the log file generated is analyzed by people in a forum, such as BleepingComputer.  Read the instructions carefully before posting your generated log file because they are really keen on keeping redudant posts down.  I hope this helps.

EDIT: I'm assuming you've seen article such as this for typical removal.  Remember the program can have multiple names showing in the uninstall screen of a given program.  Speaking of uninstall, another handy tool in the attempt to clean your laptop is Crap Cleaner, or CCleaner.  Here it is, you want the free one obviously.

This is what I have...I fuging hate it.

Um, I have a virus that I can't get rid of. It's some adware bullshit "Adware by Barrowser ShoPa" I've tried everything and I can't get rid of it. Cleaned everything, Even did the registry thing. It keeps appearing in my internet browser. I've searched google to see if there was a fix for this and there is but it did not fix it. I'm clueless as to what to do next. -_-

Any of you heard of this malware and know how to get rid of it?

Have you tried using Malwarebytes (aka MBAM?) ... It was freeware last time I checked.  Some malware is tricky and you have to run it with the internet connection off or even in safe mode.  Just try MBAM and see if that helps.  Good luck.

edit: here's the link https://www.malwareb...g/mwb-download/

#2948307 Main story on the front of CNNSI's NFL Page

Posted by TimTom on 14 September 2014 - 08:15 AM

ESPN Sunday Sportscenter has an entire 1 hour block devoted to Greg Hardy if you want to tune in and see if they can bully JR at the last moment.  Once Week 2 is done, nobody will care.  The Panthers just need to stand firm until 11:30AM for the roster declarations and the media will leave it alone.  But I have been wrong before as Jeremy was when he proclaimed Hardy attention over once Adrian's story hit.  Well, Ed Werder is in Charlotte fighting the "good" fight just like the corporate lackey goon he is.  Good job Ed.  Good job.

PS- Do people seriously NOT have brains anymore to think for themselves and form an informed opinion?

#2947134 Anyone else use FanDuel?

Posted by TimTom on 13 September 2014 - 10:38 AM

I use draftkings and do golf, NFL CFB and baseball. I have gotten crushed in MLB and don't play that anymore. I actually came in last in a 1200 person tournament in MLB. Do pretty well in the others.

Baseball is HARD ... at least from my limited experience.  A college friend of mine who went on to work for STATs INC spent every waking hours for about two years straight making moves and monitoring his lineup.  Needless to say this was before smartphone integration, but with just a wireless linked laptop you get the idea  The amount of time for that compared to football is vastly different.  Damn stat heads.
