#2959829 Revisiting Cam's 4 Sacks Sunday

Posted by *FreeFua* on Yesterday, 10:00 AM

I finally caved and bought NFL Game Pass yesterday. First thing I wanted to do was take a look at the coaches film feature to see what Cam sees before taking a sack. I'm sure like most of you, I'm literally exhausted from seeing the same news about Hardy, Peterson and Rice.

As you can see, he has a WR over the middle but by this time 3 Lions players are in his face. Could he attempt this throw? Yes, he could. Is it extremely dangerous? Yes, it is. I believe Cam made the right decision by not forcing it and risking an INT.

Now we have a Lions player who has already broken through the middle. Looking downfield you see not a single WR is open or is even looking back at Cam. Again, Cam is sacked and it's hard to say this is fault.

Sack number 3 was a missed blocking assignment. The LB had a free run at Cam, Cam stood no chance here.

Again 3 Lions (both ends and tackle) have broken through, everyone but Cotchery is covered. However if you look at the safety you can tell he has started to make his break towards Cam and it'd be a very tough throw. This play came on 1st down, and there's no sense in risking a red zone INT. Cam took the sack and found Avant on the very next play for a TD.

So as you can see it's pretty easy to sit there and rage on Sunday right after Cam takes a sack. But if you take a look at what Cam's looking at, you can see a lot of it isn't his fault.

Maybe I'm over doing it with these next two but I remember how much people blew up during the playoff game when Cam took back to back sacks in the third Quarter. So I'll just post the pics and you can be the judge

#2958501 A Jonathon Stewart Stat...

Posted by *FreeFua* on 16 September 2014 - 04:53 PM

@PFF: #Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart has forced 17 missed tackles this year (T1st with DeMarco Murray). On just 28 total touches

Although his yards may not be up there, he's literally doing as much as he can with what he's presented with. The line has not done a good job with opening lanes for him. His TD run was a thing of beauty, I've loved watching a healthy Stewart play so far this year.

#2947386 I just met Ben Roethlisberger

Posted by *FreeFua* on 13 September 2014 - 01:25 PM

What's he suppose to say? Yes I'm terrified?

Just leave the dude alone

Only because I know you love Kalil, I met his brother Matt last night. Had my Panthers hat on and just told him I was a huge fan of his bro's.

Def doesn't warrant it's own thread and unless you're Cam Newton I'm not asking for a pic but he seemed like a cool guy, hung around at the bar for a bit actually.

@DJMoore30 I practice with mike mitchell an Steve smith. They are in no way shape or form fans of each other.

#2944523 Steelers @ Ravens Game thread: (1-0) - (0-1)

Posted by *FreeFua* on 11 September 2014 - 08:47 PM

I hope everyone just saw Ben take a sack on first down with a minute left in the half with the ball at midfield.

Ben failed to recognize the safety blitz and hung onto the ball too long. Sound familiar?

Ben, like Cam is a playmaking QB. You take the good with the bad sometimes. Ben has won multiple Super Bowls, poo like this is still going to happen.

Hey Montsta...

Gettleman = Beane

Gettleman filling holes with castoffs and using platoon's like Mikell and Lester last year and Harper and Godfrey this year.

Not sure how I feel now that I've compared the Panthers to the A's...

#2941948 Around the Horn called for Hardy's suspension

Posted by *FreeFua* on 10 September 2014 - 06:22 PM

Florio's piece was perfect. People need to educate themselves on the NC justice system before calling for Hardy's head. Everyone is so quick to voice their opinion and half don't even have a clue. Meanwhile they could potentially be ruining a innocent man's life.

I followed the trial pretty closely and I truly believe Hardy is innocent. I've been to bars before and have seen the poo girls say and do to guys in the NHL. I couldn't even imagine the crap some of these big time NFL players go through. Don't get my words twisted either, some girls have legit cases forsure, but I've experienced first hand the lengths girls will go to, to try and get you to come home with them.

#2938774 Urgent: Referee Watch 2014-15 Panthers Edition

Posted by *FreeFua* on 09 September 2014 - 09:37 AM

I watched a ton of the early games Sunday, and there were multiple roughing the passer calls that shouldn't have been. Fact is, they are going to protect the QB. We are going to benefit this year from these types of calls as well (we did multiple times last year).

The only issue I had with the officials is that the head ref, Pete Morelli was Doug Martin's high school principal. I doubt it has any impact on how he calls the game, but you would think the NFL would avoid sending him to a Buc's game if Martin is playing.

How fugging bad was that roughing the passer call that DJ Swearinger got! Couldn't believe that one, wasn't even close. Luckily for the Texans they forced a turnover on the very next play.

#2938477 Stewart

I thought Stewart played fine when called upon. He had a big 3rd down catch, ran hard and picked up yards when it looked like he was going to get nothing.

#2937437 Cam's Contract Projection by Spotrac

Posted by *FreeFua* on 08 September 2014 - 02:54 PM

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think Cam will work out a team friendly deal. I'm convinced he wants to win a Super Bowl more than signing a ludicrous contract.

I like to think that as well. Cam is such a competitor and I honestly think he values winning more than money to an extent. He's got Under Armour and other endorsement deals too. He doesn't need to take the Panthers for every nickel.

I also don't think DG would sign him to a contract that would cap strap the Panthers for years to come. Cam's a leader and a true teammate, I'm confident they'll find a middle ground.

#2936828 Along the Sidelines - Bucs Edition

Posted by *FreeFua* on 08 September 2014 - 11:50 AM

In the end it was Big Play Bene that sealed the deal thanks to a forced fumble by Luke Kuechly. Bene is one of those players that just has good thing happen around them. He reminds me of Ricky Manning Jr before the rule changes that completely ruined Ricky's game.

Panthers-Bucs-60.jpg
.

Bene impressed the hell out of me. I watched whatever games Draft Breakdown had on Bene before and after the draft and his tackling stood out to me as a weak spot. Yesterday Bene, showed me he has improved that and isn't afraid to get in there.

During the 3rd quarter, the Bucs lined Evans up in the slot and threw him a screen pass. Bene came up and took Evans out low. Alot of cut ups that I saw Bene would go high and struggle with tackling.

In the 4th he blew up Doug Martin coming out of the back field just as he was about to make a first down catch. Bene jarred the ball loose resulting in a incomplete pass.

Lastly, Bene scooped up the bouncing ball while being able to stay inbounds. I wasn't a Captain fan so Bene is a breath of fresh air. I know it's only ONE GAME, but it's hard not to get excited about him!

#2936202 Luke happy... but not satisfied

Posted by *FreeFua* on 08 September 2014 - 07:16 AM

Luke saved what could've been one of the worst collapses in Panthers history.

Big time players make big time plays! And that's exactly what Luke did.

Tipped a ball leading to an INT, made a nice move on Martin to get a sack and force a punt instead of a FG, and made a game saving force fumble! Easily my player of the game!

#2935654 If you want to see how the game should be played (Broncos vs. Colts)

I hope everyone just saw the 2 wide open WR's Manning just missed. QB's miss throws, it happens!
