#2771183 Coleman

Posted by jptaylor84 on 09 May 2014 - 07:31 AM

I like Coleman but I think we need a burner now!
Coleman is going to be a steal though for whover picks him he's only a junior coming out aged 20.

#2763494 Charles Godfrey Takes Large PAYCUT

Great work Gettleman! Hurney would have given him a pay rise if he was stil in town

#2738717 Zack Martin a Panther if he follows Moses (in draft) to Promise Land?

Posted by jptaylor84 on 14 April 2014 - 04:06 AM

The fact I've heard so many experts say Martin would be likely a guard in the nfl puts me off, whilst we all watch college football and think we know our stuff, these guys do know what there talking about as most played the game, but saying that any guy we draft will have fors and againsts, nobody's perfect but id rather just draft the best fit for us, I prefer Moses over him personally.

#2734719 NFL Draft is a month out and I still have no Idea who we're looking at?

Posted by jptaylor84 on 10 April 2014 - 02:28 PM

BPA! Simple as that as don't lock in on one position even one where we don't need a player at, The Giants were known for drafting players in positions which were already strong and I see that as Gettlemans philosophy!

#2734117 Okay...about that Oline.

Posted by jptaylor84 on 10 April 2014 - 10:07 AM

the sky is falling! the sky is falling!

no... lets not trust people who work in a NFL franchise's front office, especially after the terrible offseason and painful 2013 season the Panthers experienced...

Was kugbila not injured? Was bell not garbage? Was amini not playing bad before his injury? Oh that's right they were all valid points I made, so shall we keep these guys on the line or draft replacements? you just don't like a realistic point of view as opposed to a we had a winning season so all is not so bad logic! You can win but fail in areas you know, every team is looking to improve and we should too, the line was horrific but was held up by kalil and gross and wharton! The rest were poor to average! No run game unless you all your qb scrambling for his life and gaining us yardage as a run game! I'm not negative just a realist who thinks the line is the most important need on the whole roster! And when Gettleman drafts three oline men il be satisfied whereas most who want recievers won't be! No good having a star qb and star receivers with the star qb sat flat on his ass.

#2733926 D-Will will be appearing on NFLN this morning

Posted by jptaylor84 on 10 April 2014 - 07:19 AM

The analyst also said the Panthers will be in the hunt this year although we have problems on offense. They said this is probably the easiest schedule we have had in about 3 years.

I don't buy into schedule stuff because it's means crap! Last year we had the hardest achedule according to some and then we started winning and people say we were only playing losing teams anyway! A lot of teams probably would have thought playing us last year was an easier game than say Seattle or Patriots and look how that turned out, one game at a time approach works best, what teams looks crap now will probably be competative and tough opponents come September.

This is the hit btw.

Looks like a fair hit to me

#2716852 Rivera says Steve Smith no longer a deep threat.

Posted by jptaylor84 on 26 March 2014 - 10:22 AM

Not a deep threat? Didn't Shula take deep balls out of the playbook this past year? We ranked the lowest of any other team in the whole league attempting to throw the ball over 20 yards or more, hard to catch it if you aren't thrown it.
But mate we took that away from out gameplan because smitty is washed up as is being said lol

#2716646 Rivera speaks.....finally

Posted by jptaylor84 on 26 March 2014 - 07:48 AM

Byron Bell still in a panthers uniform tho!
And now playing at LT I mean wtf game tape do they watch? Bell should of retired after Mario Williams beat his ass like a pee wee player in weeks two, it's embarrassing the way Cams being sold short again in both protection and weapons

#2710614 Has this week calmed your Gettle-fears?

Posted by jptaylor84 on 21 March 2014 - 02:00 PM

Ok no sarcasm needed, it was a mis type but thanks for showing your superior intelligence. Was trying to type this quick before a meeting at work, didn't double check it all

He was director of pro personnel and personally responsible for bringing in half the starting roster plus special teams players. of both Giants SB teams.

Part of the FO for 6 superbowl teams overall (not all winning)

Either way, my point is the same, trust DG.

He knows much more than huddle GM's. Pretty basic idea.

He was actually part of 8 SB teams of which 3 won, not sure what his involvement was but he knows about winning franchises I guess and has picked up a few good tips and hints along the way.

I want to get paid for that. I do that already.

#2710519 Has this week calmed your Gettle-fears?

Posted by jptaylor84 on 21 March 2014 - 01:30 PM

Didn't worry and didn't panic and why? Because our GM in one year turned around our cap mess, made us competative, took us 12-4 NFCS champs & playoffs, retained one of the top 3 DEs, and is doing the job His way! I have every faith in the guy, maybe that will be pried wrong or maybe it will be shown to be correct, either way I'm excited the direction he's leading this franchise, he's building a winner and we sure don't know much about one of those, I have confidence he will draft well also.

Fans need to discover patience he's trying To building a sustainable winner.

#2710391 Next priority... OT options (draft?)

Posted by jptaylor84 on 21 March 2014 - 12:58 PM

Paragraphs are awesome, makes a giant wall of text much easier to read.

Lastly, thanks for stating the obvious.

Was seeking opinions that's all isn't that what a forum is about.

#2710383 Next priority... OT options (draft?)

Posted by jptaylor84 on 21 March 2014 - 12:55 PM

The moves with Cotchery & Underwood for now ease the crisis some claimed at the WR position until the draft or as some in here hope the Desean Jackson trade (not likely) will finish our WR corps rebuild, this now can atleast let us concentrate on rebuilding the O-line, we prob need both a LT and a RT, Byron Bell is depth in my opinion, I don't see a lot of good free agent starters outhere so I guess Gettleman is going for a guy in the draft.

The three elite LT Robinson, Matthews, Lewan should all be gone by #15 that then leaves the next tier of prospects Morgan Moses, Zack Martin, and the two risky guys Antonio Richardson & Cyrus Koumandijo, all four are projected late first round-early second round graded players!.

I don't see we reach or even need too, if we do go BPA like many suggest we will, if a BPA WR or TE or even DB is there at #28 I can stil see the OT need made to wait, you have guys in the second-third round who aren't massive drop offs from those guys, James Hurst, Juwan James, Billy Turner, Jack Mewhort, Joel Bitonio.

The draft is deep and there's no need at all to reach and I don't expect Gettleman too, he's building a sustained competitor here in Charlotte, I was not one of the panic/sky falling in fans, I think we have a GM who's building a winner, the Hurney days are over....

#2707808 Eric Davis comments on Panther wr issue

Posted by jptaylor84 on 20 March 2014 - 05:26 AM

Bad comparison perhaps or perhaps not but Seattle had two undrafted wide receivers and a hurt Sidney rice and a always hurt Percy Harvin( who missed all the season) and stil won a Super Bowl against a team that possess the best wide receiver group in the league in the broncos, having big name talented guys helps obviously but if we roll with a draftee, king, mcnutt and one vet then so be it I don't think it will be as bad as some are saying and I'm not going to commit suicide or overreact like some fans.
