OK so lets say 2010 isn't on him. What has he done since then? Apparently he just never was that good to begin with.

You missed the point. He was ruined that year. Of course he has done nothing since. Quarterbacks used to be given time to develop. Throwing them into the fire is a fairly new phenomenon.

Clausen was not mentally ready before he even stepped on the field. That team was 2-14 because of Jimmy Clausen. Sure we had a weak o-line but we still had Steve Smith, LaFell, and a David Gettis that wanted to play football.

The team was not the reason Clausen would never throw down field. All he ever did was check down. He simply played like a chicken and didn't want to throw picks. That same squad was competitive with Matt Moore at QB. He's the guy we should feel sorry for.

What was done to Jimmy Clausen that year was criminal. No rookie in the history of professional football could have performed in any form or fashion with that offense. I am no Clausen fan but to say the team was bad because of him is just plain ridiculous. Even the great quarterbacks suck without an offensive line. Let alone a qb that young. I have never understood the level of hate for this guy. I don't think he is a good player but we will never know. Any shred of confidence and ability he might have possessed was absolutely ruined that year.

All QB's miss throws, and miss throws high.

True, they all do and no qb is perfect that is for sure. Some throw high more often than others. It is a weakness in Newton's game at this point. In some games it was painfully obvious. Bad mechanics. Not hate, just an observation. He will get better and better as his career progresses.

The entire quote was accurate at this point in Newton's career. He will continue to improve. He is a great quarterback currently. He does miss some wide open receivers. He threw the ball badly in a few games for a couple of quarters, then came up big late in the game. It is still early in his career and when his knowledge of the offense and experience on the field catches up to his incredible physical skills . . . watch out!  To say that he will be in the Hall of Fame is a compliment. The made up portion is accurate, he does tend to throw high. That's not being critical, it is being objective. Newton is a great player though, no doubt.
