Projected Compensatory Picks

21 January 2015 - 07:04 PM

http://overthecap.co...picks-for-2015/

Some good stuff here, Voth posted the link.

CAR 5 Mike Mitchell $5,000,000

  • If either Antoine Cason or Joe Webb do not qualify, Carolina will get a 6th for Captain Munnerlyn.
  • If both Antoine Cason and Joe Webb do not qualify, Carolina will get two 6ths for Captain Munnerlyn and Ted Ginn.

So seems like we'll get a 5th and maybe a 6th or two... Not sure why LaFell wouldn't get us anything.

Carolina
  • Lost (4): Mike Mitchell, Captain Munnerlyn, Ted Ginn, Brandon LaFell
  • Gained (3): Jerricho Cotchery, Joe Webb, Antoine Cason

Everybody and their mother needs a #24 jersey right now. And if you haven't listened to the first Podcast with Josh you better get your ass on it.

Redzone Defense

03 January 2015 - 08:50 PM

Needs to be better. We dominated on defense all game except for 2 redzone drives that gave them 14 points. Lindley has no business getting them to the 1 yard line through the air on both those drives against us, and then getting a TD pass and the RB getting a 1 yard TD. Not going to be good enough against Seattle or Green Bay if we let up easy TDs like that. Overall, I'm ecstatic with the D's performance and obviously they wouldn't have been in that position if not for the turnovers, but we can't overlook those two drives. Hope McD and Rivera can address this and correct it.

Philly Brown Development

Last week Jeremy posted a topic about Philly turning his back on the play where Stewart fumbled at the goal line. He would've been in perfect position to recover the fumble but was instead just walking away.

If you watch this Stewart run from yesterday, not only does Philly make a crucial block (that looked like a pancake to me) to help set up the run, he then (after hesitating a bit) hustled his ass off to be there right in the play as Stewart is tackled, ready to recover any potential fumble.

I love to see this development in a young player who has impressed from day 1. People have wanted Rivera gone for much of this season, but can development in young players like this be attributed to his coaching?
