Any publicity that this team need a new coach is good publicity.

#3038091 Seahawks players: Russel Wilson "not black enough"

Posted by Thal on 22 October 2014 - 11:32 PM

Yeah really? If she's black first and we're her family second and only Black people will come to fight for her, where the hell did her black biological father go over 20 years ago? I'll tell you this....she's proud of her last name and doesn't want his. None of this guy's family has ever reached out to her....ever, and it's not because they weren't allowed. Cause no one has seen him. I'm pretty sure that we've fought for her, emotionally, financially, lovingly. She's turned out beautifully. Working on her masters at College of Charleston. Brilliant singer. Smart, rational woman.

If you Told Whitney (her name) she would tell you the same thing I'm about to tell you.

What you just said is incredibly dumb. If you think that she identifies with race more then she identifies with her family, then quite really there's no hope for you.

There's no black people rushing to her aide and treating her nicely trying to appeal to her "blackness". Jesse Jackson isn't calling her up saying "we got your back."

Whitney chooses as an adult to live within one block of her mom, and our grandparents.

That girl is like a valley girl.

I think what hap is referring to is more about the reason the ancestors of African American were enslaved than some irresponsible guy who failed to honor his fatherly responsibility. I don't know your cousin and I won't claim to know how she thinks but the minute she one day faces the ugliness of racism it will reach her in a way you can't comprehend. Unless she's stupid it'll change her perspective in life in a way you might not comprehend.

you're african-american right? if i may ask, i'm curious how that's treated (based on your perceptions of the african-american community) as a whole… cultural identity of mixed-race individuals, i mean. if a guy is half white and half black, how should he act? if he speaks AAE with other blacks and SE (standard english) for media and white people, that's deemed normal, right? what if he speaks SE among both blacks and whites, but chooses to hang out primarily with blacks? what if he speaks SE among both, but chooses to hang out primary with whites? or, what if he chooses to speak AAE, but hangs out primarily with whites?

how is racial identity mixed with language, and what social expectations would you say come with his?

This is so profound because whites don't accept mixed race people as their own. As a result of such rejection they tend to fall back to their other half, the black community for support and security. After being sheltered by the black community there's some expectation of loyalty. So, when a person of mixed race(or pure black) try to emulate the mannerism of white people some feel they're disingenuous(or 'not real') or sell out. Emulating the mannerism or culture of whites is far different from behaving like a professional.

What Harvin and some of his teammates might be alluding to is how Wilson is being protected by the white community because he's emulating white behavior(or 'sell out'). Comparatively when guys like Cam retain their cultural identity the (white) media put a bull's eye on them. So there is this sell out or else attitude in the media when it comes to the players.

If you sell out you get the honor to be compared to 'our' white god Andrew Luck. If you don't we'll make sure no one know you exist. The only time we'll mention you exist is when you're in handcuffs. Apparently Wilson wanted no part of that.

This is not about who speak slangs or standard. I can assure you, every black person can speak with the same accent('good English') that whites speak. The media acting like Wilson found a secret formula is what might put some people off.

#3036558 How would you build your offense around Cam?

Posted by Thal on 22 October 2014 - 02:41 AM

Cam is a dual threat QB with a rocket arm who can make all the throws and can rack up 100 yards on the ground any day. If you were a GM what would be your ideal way to build a team around him. Would you focus on:
1. a stout running attack with defense ranked 6-10.
2. a down field passing attack with heavy focus on protection. Defense ranked mid teens.
3. a stout top 5 defense with him as a game manager,
4. a spread Chip Kelly type offense. Defense ranked mid teens.
In other words what type of coach/OC would you want for this team?

#3034465 brenton bersin

Posted by Thal on 21 October 2014 - 08:30 AM

lol that's one way to perceive things.

Bersin I feel is one of the few occasions that "the answer is on the roster' is correct by the staff. He's very effective and oh we can use him for dirt cheap for now.

Why bersin tho? Why! Why! With all the problems this team have withe defense and OL. You want bersin on the field just to raise your pride?

#3032791 The Traditional QB Still Rules the League

Those "traditional" QBs in our division is not doing too well themselves.

#3023220 No KB means more Bersin & Philly

Posted by Thal on 16 October 2014 - 02:54 AM

Pathetic fan-base rooting for individuals instead of team. No KB means we're screwed. People would rather we lose just to watch freaking bersin make a catch. Wtf!

If we draft a WR in the 2-3rd round and pick up a some FAs he may not be on this team next year.

#3005915 Stephen A on First Take

Posted by Thal on 08 October 2014 - 02:48 PM

Don't mind Smith. He understands nothing about football and doesn't care about it either. So everything he says football related is tactical. You will never find him praising any black QBs so he won't be accused of playing racial favorite on more hard line issues. He's just another scum who thinks he represent the view of African Americans in this country for his career advancement.

#2987077 Why are there so many threads on Cam and the offense when our Defense is play...

Posted by Thal on 29 September 2014 - 12:28 AM

Because keuchly is the MLB. If they admit the defense is faltering that would also mean he's faltering. This is the Carolina Keuchly, remember!

#2959382 Have drop back quarterbacks been exposed?

Posted by Thal on 17 September 2014 - 02:33 AM

thats whats so great about these new age mobile qb's... they can rush for over 400 yards, complete over 60% of their passes, and post 90+ passer ratings... long are the days of vick, mcnabb, culpepper... those qb's were easy to defend... the current mobile qbs are more advanced and tougher to gameplan for... i promise you this much, the seahawks would rather face the saints than the panthers in the nfc title game, the playoffs are single elimination.. cam with his legs can control the clock and keep the seahawks off the field

That's how the 9ers used kaepernick last year. The limit his running in the regular season easy games and in the playoffs they unleashed him. Soon Cam will be used like that too. This will be the new model, run sparsely in regular season then turn it up in the playoffs.

An entire 58 yards, take it easy on them the great Luckness. Watch he pad his stats the last 5 minutes of the game against the eagle's prevent defense.

#2944409 So... this conversation about Cam Newton just happened smh

Posted by Thal on 11 September 2014 - 07:50 PM

And my friend, this is what this Luck vs all young black QB is all about. Not football. Race. I don't think there is anything wrong with a racist white guy that want his race to do well. But a common theme to all those black QB vs white QB thing is the majority black skill players that catch those passes, defend those passes, run with the ball, etc. Any particular pride of a QB for the sole reason that he's white is at this point just a moral victory.

What I love about sport is that it's fair. If you're not doing well it's because you've been out-competed.

Jungle football, lol. Sounds like someone who's been out-competed and have just words left to carry on.

Teeray should have asked him if he think Luck need more "weapon" around him. Hypocrite motherfuggas!

You're confusing racism with discrimination. Racism is belief in racial superiority/inferiority, which leads to intimidation, discrimination...and, of course, words, lol. Discrimination, the denying or supplying of some valued resource based on some personal attribute, is just one form of racism in action.

Racism can exist all it wants, as long as it's not life altering then it doesn't matter. A racist is just another enemy. Enemies come in all shades and shall be dealt with no matter. Invade my space and territory then it's a problem. Spouting nonsense with your friend where no one can hear means nothing.

I guarantee you if 3 black guys had walk into that pub there would cricket in there. So, it's just words.

#2935761 If you want to see how the game should be played (Broncos vs. Colts)

Posted by Thal on 07 September 2014 - 11:12 PM

And might I add, Andrew Luck sucks. I don't see the "elite" all these writers see. He is missing throws, holding onto the ball long, making stupid throws, etc.

He's a great stat padder. Suck early and play with nothing to lose at the end. This dude is gonna be 'gonna be great' forever. Just like Cutler.
