#3256786 Brian Hartline and Chris Canty to be released

Posted by Thal on 27 February 2015 - 03:17 PM

I feel bad for guys like decker and hartline, they have about 3-4 years to be decent before their lack of physical ability catch up to them. My advice for future prospects similar to them is to fatten up and be offensive linemen. Receiver position is a flashy position reserved for gifted athletes.

That drunk didn't even last 2 full games in the league. Pure bust.

You think people don't already know how important play calling is to a football game?

Actually, they don't. Because they don't know which play call was bad in a given game. It's the reason the draft is so huge for fans, they think players can always compensate for bad coaching decisions. It that play teach us anything is that coaches should be given wonderlic test as well. Because critical thinking skills might be very crucial in close games. Think back to the close games we lost the last few years under rivera.

Any fan that questions if the coaches lost on purpose..

..is the epitome of a lil Bitch reactionary!

Whether he lost on purpose is debatable, the ability to do so is not debatable.

You people aren't thinking outside the box. Although there may not be any conspiracy associated with the call but it does show the level of influence the play caller have over the game. Just pause a little and think a bit.

#3159446 Why they hyping Watt so much? WTH

They're just throwing him a bone to give suburban kids encouragement. If he can do it then everyone can do it too. Yea, right!

#3158652 Who has the media sucked off the most this year?

Posted by Thal on 28 December 2014 - 06:42 PM

In a year where Houston is not in the conversation for MVP it's insulting they would even suggest Watt is a MVP. So Houston doesn't do enough? The guy have 22 sacks. 22 sacks!!!!

The Chiefs have the 7th rank defense with Houston. The Texans have the 21st rank defense with Watt. Watt doesn't make his team better based on these numbers. Watt is the best player on a bad team.

It's a league of Luck, Manziel, Rodgers, Nelson, watt, etc. You know, the other 30%. No room for the other 70 percenters like Cam.

#3038091 Seahawks players: Russel Wilson "not black enough"

Posted by Thal on 22 October 2014 - 11:32 PM

Yeah really? If she's black first and we're her family second and only Black people will come to fight for her, where the hell did her black biological father go over 20 years ago? I'll tell you this....she's proud of her last name and doesn't want his. None of this guy's family has ever reached out to her....ever, and it's not because they weren't allowed. Cause no one has seen him. I'm pretty sure that we've fought for her, emotionally, financially, lovingly. She's turned out beautifully. Working on her masters at College of Charleston. Brilliant singer. Smart, rational woman.

If you Told Whitney (her name) she would tell you the same thing I'm about to tell you.

What you just said is incredibly dumb. If you think that she identifies with race more then she identifies with her family, then quite really there's no hope for you.

There's no black people rushing to her aide and treating her nicely trying to appeal to her "blackness". Jesse Jackson isn't calling her up saying "we got your back."

Whitney chooses as an adult to live within one block of her mom, and our grandparents.

That girl is like a valley girl.

I think what hap is referring to is more about the reason the ancestors of African American were enslaved than some irresponsible guy who failed to honor his fatherly responsibility. I don't know your cousin and I won't claim to know how she thinks but the minute she one day faces the ugliness of racism it will reach her in a way you can't comprehend. Unless she's stupid it'll change her perspective in life in a way you might not comprehend.

#3037874 Seahawks players: Russel Wilson "not black enough"

Posted by Thal on 22 October 2014 - 08:42 PM

you're african-american right? if i may ask, i'm curious how that's treated (based on your perceptions of the african-american community) as a whole… cultural identity of mixed-race individuals, i mean. if a guy is half white and half black, how should he act? if he speaks AAE with other blacks and SE (standard english) for media and white people, that's deemed normal, right? what if he speaks SE among both blacks and whites, but chooses to hang out primarily with blacks? what if he speaks SE among both, but chooses to hang out primary with whites? or, what if he chooses to speak AAE, but hangs out primarily with whites?

how is racial identity mixed with language, and what social expectations would you say come with his?

This is so profound because whites don't accept mixed race people as their own. As a result of such rejection they tend to fall back to their other half, the black community for support and security. After being sheltered by the black community there's some expectation of loyalty. So, when a person of mixed race(or pure black) try to emulate the mannerism of white people some feel they're disingenuous(or 'not real') or sell out. Emulating the mannerism or culture of whites is far different from behaving like a professional.

What Harvin and some of his teammates might be alluding to is how Wilson is being protected by the white community because he's emulating white behavior(or 'sell out'). Comparatively when guys like Cam retain their cultural identity the (white) media put a bull's eye on them. So there is this sell out or else attitude in the media when it comes to the players.

If you sell out you get the honor to be compared to 'our' white god Andrew Luck. If you don't we'll make sure no one know you exist. The only time we'll mention you exist is when you're in handcuffs. Apparently Wilson wanted no part of that.

This is not about who speak slangs or standard. I can assure you, every black person can speak with the same accent('good English') that whites speak. The media acting like Wilson found a secret formula is what might put some people off.

#3036558 How would you build your offense around Cam?

Posted by Thal on 22 October 2014 - 02:41 AM

Cam is a dual threat QB with a rocket arm who can make all the throws and can rack up 100 yards on the ground any day. If you were a GM what would be your ideal way to build a team around him. Would you focus on:
1. a stout running attack with defense ranked 6-10.
2. a down field passing attack with heavy focus on protection. Defense ranked mid teens.
3. a stout top 5 defense with him as a game manager,
4. a spread Chip Kelly type offense. Defense ranked mid teens.
Etc.
In other words what type of coach/OC would you want for this team?

#3034465 brenton bersin

Posted by Thal on 21 October 2014 - 08:30 AM

lol that's one way to perceive things.

Bersin I feel is one of the few occasions that "the answer is on the roster' is correct by the staff. He's very effective and oh we can use him for dirt cheap for now.

Why bersin tho? Why! Why! With all the problems this team have withe defense and OL. You want bersin on the field just to raise your pride?

Those "traditional" QBs in our division is not doing too well themselves.

#3023220 No KB means more Bersin & Philly

Posted by Thal on 16 October 2014 - 02:54 AM

Pathetic fan-base rooting for individuals instead of team. No KB means we're screwed. People would rather we lose just to watch freaking bersin make a catch. Wtf!

If we draft a WR in the 2-3rd round and pick up a some FAs he may not be on this team next year.
