#2823730 Thomas Davis sheds knee brace

Posted by Draconus on 18 June 2014 - 04:27 PM

Okay before everyone in here has a meltdown:

I've torn both ACLs, had procedures and rehabbed both.  Because of this, I've talked to countless doctors, therapists and read any medical journal I could find on the subject.  BRACES DO ALMOST NOTHING TO PREVENT ACL TEARS.  For someone who has normal muscle development(or beyond normal for an NFL athlete), the amount of force required and the type of force required cannot be stopped by any brace.

The majority of progressive surgeons/sports doctors at this point do not recommend braces, since if anything, they prevent the natural strengthening of the muscles that help stabilize the knee.  Braces now are more or less to help the patient psychologically "trust" the knee again.  If Davis doesn't feel the need to hesitate and second guess his knee, there is almost no advantage to wearing the brace.  If Davis feels it's slowing him down(which is more then likely true but not to a huge degree), then he should most definitely take it off.

#2822572 Brandon Williams Catching On

Wouldn't mind him being our #2 TE instead of Ed.  The guy's ceiling is as high as it gets.

Stewart is here for several more years, he's basically uncutable, but Deangelo will be gone.

#2815952 Cam wants more than what Kap got- Ian Rap...

Posted by Draconus on 10 June 2014 - 09:16 PM

Doesn't sound like very reputable sources, but with bias aside, the 49ers are GENIUSES with Kap's contract.  Franchise QB prices are out of hand, and while they are obviously the most important player on the team in today's passing NFL, the fact they're eating up 1/6 of the cap when they are 1/53 of the players is insanity.  When Romo and Flacco were handed their undeserved contracts, it put the market potentially out of control, and Kap's contract may right the ship.

#2813093 So Who Is Sir Purr?

Jerry Richardson is a worg and controls Sir Purr. This is why Richardson appears to be asleep during games.

You're lucky to have survived.

#2809415 More two tight end sets it is!

Posted by Draconus on 04 June 2014 - 08:40 PM

Olsen, Benjamin and Williams/Dickson on the field gives Cam three huge targets, on top of Cotchery who is a decent 6'1.   This year's goal is a overpowering run game, and large physical pass catchers.  Think San Francisco, but with a much better QB.

#2808286 Prediction: Kelvin Benjamin > Sammy Watkins

Posted by Draconus on 03 June 2014 - 10:43 PM

LOL being a Tar Heel homer has nothing to do with the subject. he dropped multiple passes in multiple games the fact he had a great team behind him doesn't change that fact. Things will be a lot tighter with the Panthers which is a concern.it is just fortuante for him he was on such a good team. I guess roto world is a Tar Heel homer too along with cbs sportline, espn,sbnation...

Well the fact is many players don't play well in blow out games, simply because they play too relaxed and play down to the level of their competition.  You said I was wrong, yet you can't site any situations where I was wrong.  Florida State played one close game the entire season, and Benjamin caught the game winning touchdown, end of story.

#2807363 Prediction: Kelvin Benjamin > Sammy Watkins

Posted by Draconus on 03 June 2014 - 07:13 AM

so LaFell drops six in a season and he sucks, KB drops 3 in one game and he is better than Sammy Watkins. so we would not have taken Watkins over Benjamin?

The difference being that the majority of Lafell's drop's were in crucial situations and 3rd downs;  Lafell did his part to lose us at least one game this season (Arizona).  You don't realize how much the momentum of a game can  change due to drive stalling out.

On the other hand, KB dropped balls when Florida State was already blowing someone out, and caught everything when it mattered.

#2806519 NFL.com article-Peppers best player in team history.

Posted by Draconus on 02 June 2014 - 09:31 AM

Skimmed the article, but they justified the choice by saying Peppers was the best defensive end in the league from 04-06? So 3 years of being the best at your position makes you the best player this franchise has ever had? But Smith being top 10 at his position for 8+ years means nothing? LOL

#2805989 June 1st cuts

Posted by Draconus on 01 June 2014 - 02:11 PM

not sure why anyone still likes Oher.  He's way past his prime.  From SI:

Fan of PFF rankings or not, he gave up a poo ton of sacks the last two years.  The Titans got jobbed offering him $20M.

Because most casual fans barely know how good their own O-Line is, and since Oher has name recognition due to his movie, people assume he must be great.

#2802110 Prediction: Kelvin Benjamin > Sammy Watkins

Posted by Draconus on 28 May 2014 - 09:39 AM

a couple of his amazing catches he got only one foot down inbounds, if he can't learn to get both down then those catches won't matter at this level.

Sent from my SGH-M919 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

Why would he try to get two down if he didn't need to? How many elite college receivers do you see wasting the time to get down 2?  Just because he only put down 1, doesn't mean he couldn't have done 2.

#2800872 OTA's....Godfrey limited....Kug not so much

Posted by Draconus on 27 May 2014 - 09:27 AM

Kug is vaporware.

Duke Kugem Forever??

Doesn't really matter, it's going to be Silatolu and Turner anyway.

#2800608 Cam & Kelvin hanging out together

Posted by Draconus on 26 May 2014 - 09:30 PM

For those commenting about Cam's abs, or lack of, you're a fatass idiot who knows nothing about working out.

Obviously Cam has been in a boot, so his mobility is limited while he rehabs.  During rehab he needs to be taking in a calorie excess in order to promote muscle growth.  Of course he's not going to be in peak shape during this time, but it's also May.  Cam has a body that's going to cut down quickly, and at his size, he'll probably only have to drop 5-10 lbs max.

Need to find a retro Deshaun Foster #20 jersey(before he switched to 26), then you'll be a real hipster.
