Just waiting for the outrage that two players awaiting trial are allowed to play

Yes, the hypocrisy wasn't lost on me.

Oh and we basically spotted them 14 pts, that didn't help.

#2964067 Never Seen D.G. Like This

DG is a football guy, this is way out of his lane and hopefully we never have to deal with a situation like this again.

Carry your wallet in a front pocket.

#2959131 Panthers have signed rookie RB Lache Seastrunk to the practice squad.

Fozzy is week-to-week from what I understand, so they may just IR him and move this guy to the 53.

#2959113 The unintended consequences of NFL bowing down to knee jerk reactionaries

Posted by CatMan72 on 16 September 2014 - 09:35 PM

It's a slippery slope to be sure, the minute you start giving into media pressure and making knee-jerk decisions you're in big trouble and the NFL is in big trouble. Now Rice is appealing his indefinite suspension on the grounds that he's already been punished for the offense and he has a very good chance of winning that appeal because it sets a terrible precedence. You can't rightfully punish someone for the same offense twice and nothing changed about his case beyond the public's perception after we saw him actually knock his wife out. The 2 game suspension was ridiculously insufficient, but it was the punishment he was assessed for assaulting his wife and rendering her unconscious.

The Panthers are on the ropes now, because they buckled to the pressure and deactivated Hardy to appease the media - but the moment they decide to make him active they'll take twice as much crap as they were taking before.

#2959102 Steelers prediction thread...lay it out there now

We're going to dominate them in front of a national TV audience... major blowout alert.

#2959097 One small thing that helps Hardy's chances of playing Sunday....

Posted by CatMan72 on 16 September 2014 - 09:29 PM

Suspend him for what, exactly?

Being accused of something, having a judge hear evidence and him requesting a jury trial that has yet to occur?

Agree, if you can be suspended for this we should send a female to New Orleans to accuse Brees of assault so we don't have to deal with him for the rest of the season.

#2958981 PFT: NFL may suspend Hardy

Posted by CatMan72 on 16 September 2014 - 08:34 PM

I'm getting sick of hearing about how Hardy is appealing his guilty verdict... he's not, he has invoked his right under NC law to request a trial by jury and the prior guilty verdict has no bearing on that - IT'S A NEW TRIAL.

You may agree or disagree with the law, but that's the way it works in NC so it's totally unfair to characterize it as an appeal of a guilty verdict.

Judges in NC know this so if they think there's even the slightest chance that the accused is guilty, it makes sense for them to render a guilty verdict so the case can move on to a real trial.

I don't know what Hardy did, but he claims he is innocent so I think he is entitled to a presumption of innocence until he has his real day in court. Suspending players based only on accusations is a very slippery slope.

#2954334 Dear NFL Rookies - Don't trash talk Luke Kuechly

Posted by CatMan72 on 15 September 2014 - 07:04 AM

Never thought I'd say this...I really like how physical Roman Harper is. He brings some nasty and blitzing is his strength.

Best pass rushing DB in the league over the last 5 years by a huge margin... Gman targeted him in FA for a reason.

#2946946 MSNBC Morning Joe: Hardy, Panthers and the War on Women

Posted by CatMan72 on 13 September 2014 - 06:54 AM

Actually we're doing the right thing by presuming Hardy is innocent until he's had the opportunity to be judged by a jury of his peers. These are fundamental principals of our legal system, sounds like MSNBC and several others need to brush up on that.
