pretty sure nike is like in their backyard.

i love their unis tbh

Nike has shoveled hundreds of millions of dollars and untold number of garish uniforms into Oregon, mainly as Phil Knight is an alum and a super fan.

#3168831 National Championship: Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Oregon Ducks (Jan. 12)

Posted by Delhommey on 02 January 2015 - 10:38 AM

Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany, standing at midfield during the trophy presentation, proclaimed: "It's a great day for Big Ten football. Everyone knows we haven't had our way for the last seven or eight years. So it's a good day."

Only the Big 10 would whine in victory.

#3168748 Doug Farrar Gives Underrated Davis Some Recognition

Posted by Delhommey on 02 January 2015 - 09:48 AM

When talk turns to the Panthers' linebacker corps in a defense that has played in a resurgent fashion of late, the first and last subject is generally Luke Kuechly. Fair enough, as Kuechly has been one of the better players at his position since the team selected him with the ninth overall pick in the 2012 draft. But Thomas Davis has a more compelling story, and the nine-year veteran is playing at a fairly torrid pace himself. NFL 2014 NFL playoff predictions: Picks for postseason, Super Bowl XLIX 2014-'15 NFL Playoff Predictions: Our picks for Super Bowl XLIX by SI Staff

Davis is the only player in NFL history to return to the field after tearing the same ACL three times -- and he's operating at a level that belies that injury history. This season, the 30-year-old Davis has 100 total tackles, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Pro Football Focus has him ranked as the NFL's fifth-best 4-3 outside linebacker, and he's tied with Oakland Raiders rookie Khalil Mack with 48 stops, good enough for seventh in the league. Davis isn't thrown at often, but he's proven that he has the speed and agility, as well as the short-area quickness, to cover when required.

He needs contacts or something, he squints all the time when looking at the sideline.

He finally got contacts beginning of last year, but I think he still squints out of habit.

#3165253 Can we be like Greenbay, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore?

Posted by Delhommey on 31 December 2014 - 12:01 AM

They have missed more then hit on draft picks.

Most teams do.

Again the Patriots get a lot of picks so that they can whiff on a lot of picks.

Say what you will, but NE drafted 8 of 11 of their Offensive starters and 7 of their 11 Defensive starters. That's basically 70% of their roster they drafted themselves.

You could make an argument they could have done more with all the picks they had, but the Patriots get much more than the average NFL squad out of the draft in the end.

#3165150 Reasoning for Suh Suspension Being Lifted

Posted by Delhommey on 30 December 2014 - 10:56 PM

Everyone goes out of their way to crap on players like Suh when they do this, but then whine that the refs don't "let em play" and that the game is losing its once sharp edge.

This is the kind of stuff Butkus, Hamm, Mean Jo Greene, et al made a living on. Lawrence Taylor would have called Suh a p***y for pulling up at the end.

You can't go and talk about the good ol' days and then go clutching your pearls just because now the extra curriculars are replayed 70,000 times in slowmo 1080p throughout the week.

#3165136 Can we be like Greenbay, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore?

Drafted 8 starters in the past two years, and signed 2 more starters as UDFA's. Pretty good, I'd say.

Gettleman's strengths means he should be good at finding talent in later rounds, which so far has shown to be the case.

#3161271 Drug testing for Welfare recipients coming to Michigan

Sorta happens already with many companies. If those corps never hired other people then I'd say you were close.

Execs drug tested? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

#3140426 Breaking: US and Cuba seek to normalise ties

Posted by Delhommey on 17 December 2014 - 01:14 PM

So basically, we defeated them with our superior capitalist economy.  Kudos to big banks, big oil, and Walmart.    :)

They gave up one prisoner, we gave up three.

We're removing the trade embargo that nearly destroyed their economy.

We're removing the travel exemption sending millions of tourist dollars their way.

We're (probably) removing the state terrorism label.

I'm at a loss how exactly Cuba is "losing" here.
