#2739689 John Clayton Weighs in on our talent at Receiver

Posted by carolinanimal on Yesterday, 06:10 AM

Either way whether we are right or wrong will be played out on the field not in April or the draft.

#2720954 I sense a lot of doubt

Again I not saying DG is a bad gm. I am just saying let's give him more than a year before we bow down to him. Most in the NFL will tell you one year may not necessarily carry over to the next. So what worked magically for him last year may not work as well this year.

His point is that people on here are screaming patience, yet jump all over gman like he is the coming of Jesus. We must have been so starved for a winner! My question is still the same if he gets all the credit for 12-4, if we don't do good this year, he should also get all the blame.

We don't have to give gman anything. He has had 1 good year. If that is all it takes to get absolute loyalty around here then why do so many hate hurney? He had a couple of good seasons. Can't we express concerns w/o having to act like everything is perfect and everything gman does will work out?

#2703289 Jones to the Raiders.

Posted by carolinanimal on 17 March 2014 - 06:50 PM

How come every wr we don't get the all of a sudden suck or were overrated or not right for our system? When we were after Hakeem nicks and didn't get him it was like "we don't need him. We can still get Jones and a draft pick, king and mcnutt". Then we don't get Jones and people are like " Jones was overrated, we didn't want him. We can get by with draft pick and PS players".

#2700144 Continuity for Cam?

Posted by carolinanimal on 16 March 2014 - 09:52 AM

Didn't someone post a stat showing that Cam is the only qb picked in the first round to not have another offensive playmaker drafted past the 7 th round?

#2416731 Since some are turning on Cam I have 4 question for you.

Posted by carolinanimal on 07 October 2013 - 10:23 PM

Peyton Manning won 10 games each year for 10 years with no LT after Glenn retired. Even after he lost 88, they continued to win 10 games a year with a terrible defense.

The Bears won 10 games last year with a terrible offensive line and 1 legit WR.

This is not to say that Cam is to blame, but it is also not to say that he is free from it.   The pitcher in baseball gets the loss even if the players behind him get 2 hits and commit 4 errors.  The reason?  He had the ball at the beginning of every pitch and he could have prevented a loss if he himself did not make his share of mistakes too.

so what you are saying is that since he is not as good as peyton manning, a top 3 qb of all timeu he sucks?

#2390397 What exactly is a Franchise QB?

Posted by carolinanimal on 21 September 2013 - 08:53 AM

Franchise QB: a single player that can perform several duties necessary to become a great QB, have skills that are above average, be able to lead the men around him, be able to instill a trust within not only the team but the staff the front office and the fans, be able to motivate, rally and uplift his teammates. Be able to absorb all blame and praise in the same fashion and be cool under pressure.

That would be my definition of a franchise QB.

thanks. thats a good definition.

This phrase gets tossed around a lot. But i have yet to see a real definition of what this really is.

Is it about skills? is it about wins?

is it a player like RGIII, Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick? or is it Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning?

What is your definition of a franchise qb?

#2387857 Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan on Cam

Posted by carolinanimal on 18 September 2013 - 10:08 PM

What part?  That he doesn't hold the ball longer than any other quarterback?  That was a fact in 2012.  Doubt it has changed.  That he doesn't throw off his back foot sometimes even when not pressured?  Watch him.  He uses mostly arm and will often throw without moving his feet or stepping into the throw at all. That he holds the ball until he feels pressured forcing him to throw off his back foot?  That seems self evident.

Truth is that he is slow to recognize defenses and has trouble knowing where to throw it until the receiver is wide open.

if you watch the tape on newton you will see many times, he makes throws with anticipation, not when they are "wide open".  you cant do what he does and be "slow to recognize defenses and have to hit only wide open receivers".

according to you he sucks. you make him sound like The Golden Calf of Bristol.

#2387200 Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan on Cam

Posted by carolinanimal on 18 September 2013 - 04:15 PM

I know everyone was wanting to know what yasuhara's opinion about Cam is so here it goes. This is going to blow everybody's mind!

Ok so here it goes:

While the team is struggling to win tight games, Cam Newton's flaws are getting more apparent. Accuracy is an issue, stepping into his throws never seems to happen. But what has happened? Did Cam all of a sudden forget how to throw? Is his confidence shot?

First off, my take just on observing every game but not ever studying "game film" is that we do not run things that are advantageous to Cam.

Double TE threat! Olsen and Shockey were amazing. Olsen 45 catches and 5 tds and Shockey with 37 catches and 4 tds. So our TEs had 82 catches and 9 tds in 2011. So what do we do get? Get rid of Shockey and do not replace him. Now we have an inactive replacement but Williams is such a liability in the run game that the coaches seem to be too reluctant to use him.

I-Formation play-action pass. Cam used to throw the deep our our TE corner perfectly. I do not remember in the past two games one time when he has attempted a deep out.

Cam Running! He needs to be a run threat to open the pass. We need to run and show success for Cam to be successful!

So while Cam is mechanically sucking right now I truly feel that the main problem is that we are not giving him a chance to be successful.

excellent post! leave it to carolina to go away from whats working for the franchise qb.

#2385775 Does Cam make his WRs better?

Posted by carolinanimal on 17 September 2013 - 06:27 PM

Here is my suggestion to most people. get nfl game rewind. watch the games in either condensed version or all 22 cam.  this will give you a better view and look of the games.

maybe it will stop all the hyperbole on here. "CAM IS NEVER ACCURATE!!!!!"  "HE OVERTHROWS EVERYONE!!!!!"

actually count the overthrows versus other qbs.

#2385639 Does Cam make his WRs better?

Posted by carolinanimal on 17 September 2013 - 05:21 PM

Yeah and even without him they still have talent surrounding Wilson.

If you can sit here and tell me that you feel we have done enough to surround Cam with viable weapons the last three years, then don't even quote me anymore. Because you are delusional beyond any assistance whatsoever.

look at the last 3 drafts and tell me who the main offensive weapons were for cam. heck even viable additions to the oline.
