#3161366 Should we resign Byron Bell?

Posted by coralreefer_1 on 29 December 2014 - 08:01 AM

Man I just hate how we come off a dominating win and take the division..yet some are already crapping and finding fault with our team before the season for us is even over!

Seriously, you knuckleheads will have 6 months to lay down your gripes and make stupid ass threads about this or that player in time. How about supporting the team (and ALL its members) while we try to make a run in the playoffs?

Heaven knows if I had admin powers, I'd ban this OP for even bringing such stupid mess up! Get over it...what he deserves doesn't mean a darn thing right now!

#3153453 If the Panthers lose should Ron Rivera return?

Posted by coralreefer_1 on 26 December 2014 - 10:33 AM

I dont think RR should go, even if we lose.

Forget all the stuff about injuries, Hardy, cap situation, key player retirements and cuts last season, Cams surgery/injuries....etc. I know many want to see him go regardless, but i find if ironic that we give a pass to a player to "grow" into a position, but the same isnt given to a coach.

Throwing a new coach into the system just changes everything with the chemistry the team is finally beginning to build. Given to that, we have quite a few very key players on the roster that may decide that its better to just end their career with the end of a coaching regime rather than go through the whole transition years ago (Kalil and TD come to mind)

Some people around here were creaming themselves with wanting to hire Lovie. Look how that has turned out for TB..lol. RR may not be a great coach, and he may never be...but considering where we were at when he was hired, and the momentum the team has gained since then...I dont see a reason to get rid of him just yet. Sure we may not be skyrocketing, but we have been steadily improving in terms of management, players and coaches...and setting ourselves up for serious contention. Every year we have steadily improved our record. This year is obviously different, but that is somewhat offset that we are in contention for a division title and playoffs despite the record.

I like RR. I'd hate to see him go before a good maturation period of his style and management of the players has taken root.

#2964151 Can you relate?

Posted by coralreefer_1 on 19 September 2014 - 07:56 AM

I feel sorry for them, but mostly because of Lovie who I like (and someone many here including myself would have been brought in as DC)

For the fans? Nah....paying their dues as far as I am concerned.

#2959669 Goodell needs to be fired

Posted by coralreefer_1 on 17 September 2014 - 09:06 AM

He is considered not guilty.....trial de novo look it up

I took you up on the suggestion, and did look it up.

From Wiki: A trial de novo is usually ordered by an appellate court when the original trial failed to make a determination in a manner dictated by law.

I'mnot privy to the actual legal proceeding Hardy had in July, but EVERY article I found says he was CONVICTED.

A conviction doesn't sound like a situation where a determination was not found, but I sure as hell am not a lawyer.

But as I have said, legal loopholes or lingo aside..the only thing the media, haters, league...etc are seeing is CONVICTED.

#2947216 Jerry Richardson demonstrating character

Posted by coralreefer_1 on 13 September 2014 - 11:44 AM

Just gonna leave this here.

If Hardy were a Falcon or a Saint..most of you would be singing a different tune!

Lets stop pretending that so many of us are defending him because we care or acknowledge  the intricacies of NC law, and admit that many of us defend him because he is a member of OUR team.

#2945278 Apparently ESPN's Outside the Lines did a hit piece on Greg Hardy this mo...

Posted by coralreefer_1 on 12 September 2014 - 10:30 AM

I don't think it matters whether he did it or not, or the lady was coked up (or both of them) or not

Right or wrong he was found guilty. That is all that people are concerned about. It isn't speculation or rumor...its a situation where the law has already spoken.

I dont want to lose Hardy! I want him to play the season...etc etc, but yeah I can understand why the media is honing in on him...and if he played for any other team (particularly the Saints or Falcons, few here would have a problem with the national media focus.

#2936203 Let Cam Sit This Week

Hahahahahahaha. Awesome.

It was awesome..wasn't it?

#2930608 Get ready to see Anderson start

Posted by coralreefer_1 on 07 September 2014 - 11:00 AM

What was published on the panthers site was that during stretching Cam left and went inside. Bad sources, my apologies to everyone.

Sent from my iPhone using CarolinaHuddle

You arent wrong and no need to apologize. People seem to ignore the fact that RR refused to say whether or Cam cam actually made passes Thursday, and also seem to miss the fact that he said "the reps we wanted him to take"

There is a big difference between the reps a healthy Cam takes, and the reps an injured QB take suffering through soreness of a fractured rib.

Cam took some reps..yes. But I will bet money they were not the same kind of "reps" he would have been doing were he not injured. Therefore, the reps some speak of to justify his readiness falls flat

#2930596 Get ready to see Anderson start

Posted by coralreefer_1 on 07 September 2014 - 10:53 AM

Cam would not be the first, nor last qb to play with broken ribs.

Forgive me for not diving a darn about what past QB's did with their own injuries.

I'm more concerned with our QB whom is supposed to lead our team into the future, the QB whom hasnt really been able to practice and play at 100% because of the surgery during camp and the preseason, and the QB whom RR cant seem to control to the point that he puts himself out there to get hit/reinjured again.

I'm not a fan of other QB's. I'm a fan of OUR team and care far more about our future to not base what Cam can or should do off comparisons of what others have done. Too many factors dictate such situations

Funny how when i expressed the same thing 3 days ago, I was lambasted for it. Regardless of who starts and who plays, the team, coach and "insiders" seem to share the same sentiments I had.

That's for you Promethean and Tub of goo!!

#2896293 Fisher #1 pick, UDFA Bell playing better

Posted by coralreefer_1 on 18 August 2014 - 06:38 AM

Told yall mofos to leave Bell alone. He's doing his thing, and glad that RR believes in him. God knows back during the draft the man was treated worse than Clausen was around here.

#2889824 New Huddlers... introduce yourself....

Posted by coralreefer_1 on 14 August 2014 - 07:19 AM

I am not exactly a newbie, though over the years I have been on the forum I haven't posted all that much compared to some. (only 300+ posts since that terrible playoff loss to Arizona years ago, which I joined to bitch about)

Though as time has gone on, I have posted more and more each year. I tend to be rather negative in regards to alot of the crap I read here, and I have the honor of posting the dumbest thing some unknown bloke has read on the huddle...lol

With that said, its all good. I have much love for the team of course, and the people here (we are all fans after all) even though like some of them, I find some of the stuff written here reaching for a star in a constellation called "The idiot"

So here is my intro, so most of you will be able to recognize me when I say poo that pisses people off.

Grew up in Knightdale and later Raleigh. I wasn't a fan of football until we were awarded the team, and have followed them ever since. I've been living in S. Korea for the last 10 years, and plan my yearly trips home to coincide with the Panthers game I wish to see most. Finishing up my masters in a few weeks, and about to enter the PhD program. Engaged to a woman I have been with for 6 years, a woman way too young and hot for me..but hey...she likes what I give her :) Proudly wear a 12 year old Panthers pullover I brought with me during games, although my fiance wears it more than I do. Im forced to download games and watch them a day late with the time delay and research. If anyone is looking for a way to get HD quality downloads at no cost online, (other than the one well known site everyone knows_ PM me. I can hook you up

As for the pie, back when I was a kid driving down to the coast with my Dad, we used to stop as some small flea market place along the way. There was an African American gentleman in there whom referred to himself as simply "The Pie Man". This guy was a site to behold, and would sell you a pie he baked in the store that day with a "shiny plastic fork" to eat it with. My favorite was Boston Creme.
