#3298843 Panthers now have two 5th round comp picks, not 5th and 6th

LOL that's our behind the scenes "Sorry we screwed up your season by effectively suspending your franchise player"

#3295848 Mr. Richardson did flex muscles regarding Hardy

Posted by Galvatron on 23 March 2015 - 02:00 PM

He kind of lost all his moral standing of not bringing him back by waiting until the media made a big deal out of it.

Based on that, the Panthers wouldn't have been able to afford, even IF it was an option to bring him back.

#3279639 Greg Hardy Could Receive A One Or Two-Game Suspension

Posted by Galvatron on 12 March 2015 - 12:34 PM

NFL is expected to have announce a statement regarding free agent DE Greg Hardy by Thursday.

Hardy is expected to receive either a one- or two-game suspension from the league for his involvement in a domestic violence incident that was eventually settled out of court.

Clearly the biggest losers in this situation isn't Hardy, the NFL or his next team. It's the 2014 Carolina Panthers.

#3279321 Mix of Business and Family - based on Dickson comment

Posted by Galvatron on 12 March 2015 - 10:26 AM

“They believe in keeping their own, and they believe in the guys that battled for them last year,” Dickson said. “It’s driven in this league to be all business, but when you can find coaches and staff that believe in certain guys and not just want to change it every year, that’s when you can get great things out of your team.” - Ed Dickson

It seems like the mix of Ron Rivera and Dave Gettleman is a winner. Dave says that the players play hard for Ron and respect him. That leaves Dave free to run the football business and make the tough calls. While I'm not saying that either are the best at what they do, I believe that the combination is special. I'm looking forward to this season and next because of what these two are doing together. It feels like there is an adult in the GM chair.

#3278981 Greg Hardy not getting a warm reception ....

SF already has Aldon Smith, I don't think they need another wildcard like Hardy on the team

Also, Ray McDonald and Bruce Miller. They don't need any more attention.

#3233076 Anyone know who's behind @NFLDraftBites?

Posted by Galvatron on 06 February 2015 - 01:13 PM

8 years $75MM would be a great signing. Luke is what maybe 23 or so?

Basically makes him a Panther forever but could be structured at maybe:

By the time he counts over ten mil. against the cap it will have gone up a bit I'd bet, and at no point is his number so big that you ever have to have the cap casualty conversation. Maybe $40 of it guaranteed?

I know that would never happen and if he got hurt (Beason) then you'd be fuged, but it's fun to explore the idea.

The best MLB in the league for an average of 9M per year for almost a decade? That's not bad. And like you pointed out, maybe a little over half is guaranteed. I am so ok with this.

#3232077 Would Ereck Flowers be a reach at 25?

Posted by Galvatron on 05 February 2015 - 01:48 PM

Todd McShay is mocking that we'd take him in the draft... What say people who know more than me?

25) - Ereck Flowers - Carolina Panthers (7-8-1)

Class: Jr

HT: 6-6

WT: 325

Analysis: Flowers has a really good combination of size (6-6, 325 pounds), strength, agility and toughness, possesses great football character and has played both right tackle and left tackle for the Hurricanes the past two seasons. He needs to get better with his hand placement and pad level, but his weaknesses that show up on tape are all correctable. He's a guy who has improved throughout his career and has the upside to continue to do so.

Pretty accurate as far as I can tell

#3113202 The Official Rivera Poll

Posted by Galvatron on 01 December 2014 - 09:28 AM

No matter how it shakes out, Dave should have seen enough. He's been around long enough to know whether someone "gets it" or not. I will be super disapointed in Dave if Ron's not gone after the season. Still makes me sad though, because he came in saying all the right things, he just couldn't get it done.

#3035420 Chris Scott signed to Active Roster

Posted by Galvatron on 21 October 2014 - 02:23 PM

They must be worried about turner and or amini

Maybe worried about both? Norwell played pretty well. I would hope that he can take one of their spots depending on who's healthy. Scott may take the other.

#2964107 Should we go after Vincent Jackson from Tampa Bay?

It works on Madden.

Maybe we can cut Hardy?

#2924498 Bucs in Game Mode - Covert Ops

Posted by Galvatron on 04 September 2014 - 10:51 AM

I don't think that angle has gotten it's due. It isn't hard to see why Rivera has a score to settle with Lovie

Same here; I think that Lovie's success in CHI had a lot to do with RR's presence. I guarantee that if this was DAL / NYG, that angle would be played 24/7.

#2888302 we have heard about kk's progression. what about star?

Posted by Galvatron on 12 August 2014 - 08:05 PM

Are we seriously complaining about Star Lotulelei?

Let him at least have a chance to show he has progressed! We haven't played a game

I don't think anyone is complaining; just asking how he has progressed since last year. I am pretty excited to see what he will be able to do this year.
