If Kelvin Benjamin is not able to play on Sunday, than Burfict should have to sit out too.  Instead of a fine, take the game away.  That may be the only way to get players (dirty players) attention.

I think it is a combination of many different factors...ie. brand new secondary which is worse than last year with no Captain or Mitchell, injuries to CJ, TD, and also not having Hardy.

However, the part that baffles me is:  How come this defense was so good against the Lions which has a very good offense.  Hardy did not play in that game and the secondary was pretty much the same as now.  So what happened after the Lions game to make the defense 'fall apart'?

No - terrible special teams killed the Panthers today.  A missed field goal, and awful kick coverage that allowed a 97 yard return.  The game should have been over after the Olsen TD.

The biggest issue, IMO, was not having a capable back up to Gross when he decided to hang them up.  Again, should have drafted Cordy Glenn rather than Amini, let him play RT and move to LT when Gross left.

Agreed.  It's hard to imagine how the Panthers were 'surprised' when Gross retired, but they did not have a replacement plan or as least a good replacement plan.  I think the other big miss was never really replacing Otah and/or RT.  When healthy, he was a very good RT & was a difference maker in the o-line.  His replacement was Bell.

I think the Panthers O-line would be struggling with or without the new CBA.  It really is surprising at how the Panthers have 'over-looked' the O-line the past few years.  I think most of us thought the o-line was the biggest concern this season.  Hopefully, the make it a top priority this offseason.

2009:  The Panthers had two 1,000 yard RB's, and the O-line was:  LT -Gross (1st Round), LG- Wharton (3rd Round), C - Kalil (2nd Round), RG (Vincent - UDFA), and RT - Otah (1st Round).  Two 1st rounders in LT & RT.  Today, two UDFA for LT & RT.

Today - The players are not even close to the attention we gave the O-line in 2009.
