Just to get this out of the way, I'm not happy about Smitty, and I think Gettleman may be making the right decisions but he hasn't really shown me a lot around the people skill department. With that said...
Figure we have a rookie receiver with promise, and a veteran who's maybe got a year or two left in the tank (like Smitty). We've got Williams and Stewart both healthy, Tolbert back, and the two guards that we should have had last year. SOMEONE will be able to step in at LT and while they probably won't be as good as Gross, that's not the same thing as thinking they'll be a turnstile.
So basically, Cam, our RBs, Olsen, and some receivers that don't scare anyone. Can we move the ball?
Or really, is there anyone out there who believes we won't be able to? Seriously?
Just curious, so I thought I would throw this out there. Forget Gettleman and Rivera, we all know they're each the best at their jobs the franchise has ever had, until they're not.
How would you rank the following as GMs? Hurney, Seiffert, Capers, Polian
And how would you rank the following as Coaches? Fox, Seiffert, Capers
Personally, I think that if Gettleman and Rivera are indeed the best at their jobs we've had it says a lot about how we've grown as a franchise--we just keep getting better at those hires. But I'm interested in what others think as well.
