Getting pressure on Cutler and forcing him into throwing picks keeps getting mentioned.  Who is going to bring that pressure?  The 4th string DE?

There's mention of the Lions having tall wide receivers (plural)?  Other than Calvin Johnson, who else does that include?  Golden Tate is 5'11"...

Brandon Marshall: 6'4"

Alshon Jeffery: 6/3"

Martellus Bennet: 6'6"

Matt Forte: 6'2"

Even the Bears RB is fuggen tall.  You can't cover all of that height.

For all of the mentions of Cutler getting loosey goosey with the ball, he's only thrown 4 INTs this season against his 10 TDs and 2 of those picks came against his nemesis the Packers last week... 1 pick was his brainfart trying to force the ball; the other a wrongly run route by Marshall.  But Cutler's gonna be Cutler, regardless.  You can typically count on him to throw a ball he regrets.

Ironically, Cutler has thrown for more yards in the 2 losses with a higher average yards/completion than in the 2 wins this season.  In last week's game against the Packers, Forte (122 yards) and backup RB Ka'Deem Carey (72 yards) combined for 194 yards rushing and both averaged 5+ yards/carry.  Green Bay has the league's worst running defense... Carolina is not far behind them, though.   The Bears & Panthers are both fairly equally mediocre at Passing D though the Bears appear that they might be back to their ball-hawking ways with Kyle Fuller emerging as a stud in the making with 3 picks already (which equals the number the Panthers entire Defense has achieved at this point).

I love Igo's enthusiasm but let's put it into perspective.

Yep, should be fun.

I don't know what to make of this years Bears.

How do you win 2 tough road games and look like crap at home?

Meh, I might just go fishing again instead.

Oh, and hey dudes.

Yup.  You have been pulling in some good looking fish of late!  Wish I could join you

#2990711 Time To Focus Our Attention On Da Bears

Don't forget about 6'5" Martellus Bennett who's playing just about the best TE football as can be found in the league

A Bears fan on the mighty Huddle site. Please don't cause problems. The folks on here are a little pissed off lately and eat trolls for lunch. That being said...da bears may need a win, but so do the cats. Not in our house will you be victorious.

It's all good.  I don't need the mighty huddlers eating me for lunch.  I've heard stories. :D

This is a game that both teams really need to win and I can't call it.  I like the Bears offense against any Defense in the league right now but the Panthers Defense has been maligned of late.  The Panthers offense has been struggling as well but this is nowhere near the Bears defenses of yesteryear... I think the Bears D will sit back in coverage and dare Cam to throw it because the running game doesn't seem to have much to work with right now.  If Cutler keeps his head out of his ass (that's a huge IF, mind you), I think the Bears will win.

But who knows...

Good luck this week.  I'm hoping for a good game and no injuries for either team!

Go Bears. :)

#2710083 Any interest in former Bears WR Earl Bennett?

Posted by dimbee on 21 March 2014 - 09:56 AM

How many Championships does Earl have?

LOL.  I think you're missing the point.  The better question is how many WRs do the Panthers have?

Is Jonny Knox still alive?

Alive?  Yes.

Playing football?  Never again.

The moment I heard that the Bears were going to approach Bennett regarding reducing his pay (after he did so last season), I knew he wouldn't be a Bear much longer and I immediately thought he would be a good fit with the Panthers.  He has great hands and good speed.  Regarding him not taking a pay cut with the Bears and summarily getting cut, I would think the Panthers could scoop him up on the relatively cheap (his salary was only going to be around $3 million, I think).  I don't believe there are any rules that once a player is cut that an offering team has to match the contract figure from his last contract...

He'll be a lot better option available than most of the retreads that are likely to be on the scrapheap...
