#3227642 So would you rather get completely blown out...

Posted by X-Clown on 01 February 2015 - 11:46 PM

id rather lose a close game any day, if i have to watch a loss. Having no hope (ala the cardinals game in 08' after the third turnover, seahawks game in 05' after goings went out) for most of the fame and sitting through it is worse.

#3227598 On a side note ...

No

#3224076 What is the #1 headline you want to hear this offseason?

Mike Shula promoted to head coach of the Atlanta Falcons

#3223693 Can't decide who to pull for on Sunday.

because the idea of seeing belichick and brady holding the lombardi trophy makes me want to throw up, go seahawks

He should he is more knowledgeable on football than most on this board.

*snicker*

Poor man version that's classic. Geno will be a better qb in the nfl than Cam. You can quote me on that.

#3218241 Hurney GM vs Pats Cheating Culture: A scientific poll

Yeah but that only would have guaranteed that we drafted Andrew Luck the next year...

Knowing how he likes to trade, we probably would have traded a 2012 first rounder to trade up in the 2nd to draft Andy Dalton (which would mean no Cam AND no Luke).

Convenient nobody will ask Hurney about that, though.

Try to keep up

Did anyone mention to Hurney the Panthers offensive line being roided up for the superbowl?

From the article:

Hurney made it clear the Panthers weren't completely innocent of violating rules during their Super Bowl year. He brought up a report that came out after the season which said several Carolina players bought steroids from a South Carolina physician.

Among those cited in the report were three of the five starting offensive linemen.

"That was wrong," Hurney said. "The organization didn't know anything about it, and we took steps and we addressed that. We weren't going to put up with that. [Team owner] Jerry Richardson wasn't going to put up with that.

FWIW, Will Witherspoon was on 610 this morning and said that they had installed new calls during Super Bowl week but the Patriots somehow knew them.

They weren't found to be filming practices. That report was retracted.

The report about them filming the Rams was retracted, true. What Hurney is commenting on if you read the article is that he has had several people swear that the Panthers practices were taped during Super Bowl week. Maybe it's sour grapes, maybe it's not, but it's not him trying to say that taping the sidelines was illegal during that time which is what you are implying.

I didn't realize Marty had such strong feelings about the Pats, but here are some comments about their organization he made and about potential Superbowl cheating. Here are some of the highlights

"There isn't a day that goes by since [then] that I haven't questioned ... that there were some things done that might have been beyond the rules that may have given them a three-point advantage,'' Hurney said during his radio show."And I can't prove anything, and that's why I'm very angry. And the anger has come back over the last couple of days that commissioner Roger Goodell decided to shred all of the evidence after 'Spygate,' because I think there were a lot of things in there that would bring closure to a lot of people.''

"To me this isn't about 'Deflategate', this isn't about anything having to do about any particular game last week,'' Hurney said. "And it certainly isn't fodder to get by the first week before the Super Bowl.

"This is about a culture. Is there a culture of cheating at probably what most people look at as the best franchise in the National Football League?''

It was revealed in 2007 that the New England Patriots were caught illegally taping sideline defensive signals from New York Jets coaches during the team's opening week game. The "Spygate" controversy led to accusations that such activity has been going on since 2000.

"There are people who swear to me that the Patriots taped our practice down in Houston during Super Bowl week," Hurney said. "I can't prove it. I don't know. And I hate talking like this because I feel like a bad loser, but it just gnaws at you and this latest incident brings it back up.

"You go to 'Spygate' after our Super Bowl and things came out about a rumor about a video guy, and he had tapes and he goes to Hawaii and kind of disappears. ... These are all rumors and I can't substantiate any of this. But it gnaws at you."

#3214402 Same bet as last year.

Posted by X-Clown on 20 January 2015 - 10:47 AM

Must not been to outlandish.  Geno did beat him in one Category and considering it was Geno 2nd year and Cams 4th.

Geno also beat him in the "losing your starting job to a washed up journeyman" category of the bet, so there's that

#3214063 I'm starting to have Patroit level hate for the Seahawks

Posted by X-Clown on 19 January 2015 - 11:15 PM

*complains about seahawks getting lucky to win yesterday*

*roots for a panthers team known as the cardiac cats for all their improbable victories in the 03 super bowl run.

*Watched the panthers make the playoffs after being 3-8-1 and having every imaginable break go their way down in games they werent involved in (falcons choking against the lions and browns, saints choking against a crappy niners team at home), gets a home game against the worst QB of all time to start a playoff game due to injuries to 2 other QBs*

*buries head in the sand*

#3202063 Saints. Bears. Panthers. Cutler. Gruden. Delusions.

Hey bears fan guy, how excited are you going to be for the potential combo of Jay Cutler and John Fox?

#3196100 Welcome to Seattle

Posted by X-Clown on 11 January 2015 - 12:16 AM

Lol idiot. My prediction was right. Seattle has run away with this one. 31-10 here with 4:04 left in garbage time.

I actually think it's pretty ignorant you thought your losing team had a chance of a great game on the road against the defending SB champs.

34-3 at home with the division on the line is worse IMO
