#3243160 Random Panther Memories

Posted by X-Clown on 15 February 2015 - 11:28 PM

Rodney peete throws for over 300 yards and 3 Tds in a game against the bengals. The panthers score 52 points, some guy named steve smith catches one of the TDs and returns two punts for TDs (one for 61, the other for 87).

#3229552 The sabotage: For the glory of Wilson or Brady. NOT Lynch

Lynch wouldn't have won MVP even if he had scored. Would have been Russell, Matthews, or possibly Bobby Wagner.

#3228268 IF you could ONLY choose one?

I don't disagree that Kuechly is better at what he does than Cam is at what he does, but that's not the question. QB is infinitely more valuable to a team than an MLB, plus even without Kuechly you already have a stud defensive line, a stud OLB and an up and coming secondary.

The good news is that we won't have to worry about this, because both guys are not going anywhere

#3227719 Russell Wilson is smoke and mirrors.

Posted by X-Clown on 02 February 2015 - 12:28 AM

For all the complaining we do about our receivers not being up to par, Russell just got a guy who had never caught a pass in the NFL a 100 yard game. I get why a lot of you hate him, because lady luck seens to shine on him a lot and we have to hear comparisons to Cam non-stop, but its just screams sour grapes to call him garbage

#3227696 So would you rather get completely blown out...

You guys are killing me. How many of you with a straight face would say after a game like our gane against the ravens this year "Oh well at least we didn't lose a close game that could have gone either way."

#3227689 J.J. Watt moving to log cabin in 'middle of nowhere' to train

Posted by X-Clown on 02 February 2015 - 12:09 AM

Doesnt surprise me, check out this article right before the season...

http://grantland.com...14-nfl-preview/

My favorite part:

That’s where the playfulness ends. The first time Charlie Partridge, Watt’s defensive line coach at Wisconsin, met him, he had only one thought: That’s a very, very serious young man. At times, the approach makes relating to his peers a struggle. His longtime trainer, Brad Arnett, tells a story about when Watt and a few Badgers teammates were working out at NX Level. The others were talking about a bar in Madison, one of those spots so established it might as well be a stop at freshman orientation. When they asked Watt what he thought of the place, he didn’t have an answer. He’d never been. How, they kept asking, is that possible? “You want to know how?” Watt snapped back. “I was too busy becoming a first-round pick.”

If we get blown out, I get to get drunk at about halftime and have some time to get over any hangover before work.

You must have been fuged up in the first quarter of week 17

id rather lose a close game any day, if i have to watch a loss. Having no hope (ala the cardinals game in 08' after the third turnover, seahawks game in 05' after goings went out) for most of the fame and sitting through it is worse.

#3227598 On a side note ...

No

#3224076 What is the #1 headline you want to hear this offseason?

Mike Shula promoted to head coach of the Atlanta Falcons

#3223693 Can't decide who to pull for on Sunday.

because the idea of seeing belichick and brady holding the lombardi trophy makes me want to throw up, go seahawks

#3218253 Ron Rivera recaps 2014 season on WFNZ

He should he is more knowledgeable on football than most on this board.

*snicker*

Poor man version that's classic. Geno will be a better qb in the nfl than Cam. You can quote me on that.

#3218241 Hurney GM vs Pats Cheating Culture: A scientific poll

Posted by X-Clown on 23 January 2015 - 03:21 PM

Yeah but that only would have guaranteed that we drafted Andrew Luck the next year...

Knowing how he likes to trade, we probably would have traded a 2012 first rounder to trade up in the 2nd to draft Andy Dalton (which would mean no Cam AND no Luke).

Convenient nobody will ask Hurney about that, though.

Try to keep up

#3218086 Hurney on Pats: Culture of Cheating

Posted by X-Clown on 23 January 2015 - 01:09 PM

Did anyone mention to Hurney the Panthers offensive line being roided up for the superbowl?

From the article:

Hurney made it clear the Panthers weren't completely innocent of violating rules during their Super Bowl year. He brought up a report that came out after the season which said several Carolina players bought steroids from a South Carolina physician.

Among those cited in the report were three of the five starting offensive linemen.

"That was wrong," Hurney said. "The organization didn't know anything about it, and we took steps and we addressed that. We weren't going to put up with that. [Team owner] Jerry Richardson wasn't going to put up with that.
