#2264899 The Last of Us...

Posted by Miaoww on 22 June 2013 - 11:01 AM

Just copped it today! Could someone please give a brother some tips on how to get the F out of the capital building with Ellie? I was going towards the rear exit and now I'm cornered and keep getting shot.

Erm if memory serves:

You run upstairs. Follow the bannister round and exit through the doors (might be a hole?) - there's a dead firefly with a hunting rifle if that helps.  This then leads up to an encounter upstairs with several guards/rooms. Followed by an encounter downstairs with several guards/rooms.

After all that you run out onto the street to freedom.

#2243294 Fast and Furious 6

What I like about the Fast & Furious series, is that they know their target audience and they're unashamed about it.

No pandering to the general public, just making the film they want to.

With Five they were very fortunate that it actually turned out to be a very good film. Almost as a by-product.

#2242155 London Soldier Hacked to Death in Broad Daylight

Posted by Miaoww on 24 May 2013 - 07:19 PM

btw, brits disagree that it was 20 minutes before officers responded.

It was probably 20 minutes until armed police responded. Remember, our police officers don't carry guns. I don't know the full details, but I suspect police officers were on scene earlier, but weren't equipped to arrest two armed suspects (one of them had a revolver).

As for the rest of Floppin's statement - these guys weren't running around slashing everyone.

They murdered the soldier then acted calmly waiting for the police to arrive. This wasn't a random act of violence. This was a statement. A targeted attack against a serving British soldier. The publicity they're receiving now is exactly what they wanted.

Several ladies approached them - one of whom, the "fat chick", went over to see what she could do for the dead man. Her daughter spoke to the other murderer.

The third lady spoke to the man who was filmed, asking him why he did it. He was rational. Yes he was covered in blood and wielding a cleaver, but he wasn't threatening her.

Basically those three ladies showed tremendous courage.

I have a penpal I write to in London. She's hot

Is he?

It's snowed in Cambridge, but nothing like these pictures show. I'm from Chorley - I'm meant to go home this week. Looks like that's out the window judging by those pictures!

#2116275 Is there an agenda behind the anti dual threat, hybrid or read option QBs

Out of interest why has Luck been lumped as an unathletic 'pocket passer'?

Is it because he's white? Check out his Combine numbers then shut the fug up.

While you're there, Cap, see if they have a WR that doesn't assault his teammates.

#2086752 Gettleman hired as Panthers GM

Posted by Miaoww on 09 January 2013 - 06:06 PM

There's obviously a lot of posters in their 50s/60s on here.

60 IS old. Especially for a guy that has never been a GM before.

Bad hire, but then this is the Panthers.

He'll be collecting his pension in three years. Hardly the man to steer the ship in the long term. Gonna be going through this process all over again soon.

#2080321 how much stock should you put into the combine?

Posted by Miaoww on 06 January 2013 - 12:40 PM

As a fan I put more stock into it that most NFL teams.

It's my only real chance to see these players on a level playing field. I don't have access to their practices, their interviews, the coaches' film or their pro days. I think you can tell a lot by how fluid players are in their position drills.

That said film should be the prominent factor in the evaluation of a prospect. I quite like the Senior Bowl too - especially the practices.

If a player doesn't show up on film and he blows up the Combine he's only considered in the 6th/7th round in my opinion. You can always use athletes, but not at the expense of football players.

#2065231 So let's say Ross gets the GM job...

Posted by Miaoww on 28 December 2012 - 09:00 PM

Can you convince me why Ross would hire Chip Kelly - someone with whom he has no experience who also has no pro experience and who is rumored to want personnel control that Ross, as the GM, would want for himself - over Perry Fewell, someone with whom he's actually worked at two different stops (both were with the Bills in 2006) and who's not expected to have any desire to interfere with the personnel department?

Why would he choose giving Kelly his first shot at the NFL over giving Fewell his first shot at being a head coach?

Follow up question: If you knew Ross wouldn't hire Kelly, would you want a different choice for GM?

What kind of HC doesn't want to interfere with the personnel department?

The GM and the HC should work very closely together. It should be a symbiotic relationship - the GM is trying to draft players that fit the systems the HC is running after all.

This is why I think Rivera's gone. What GM wants to work with the last guy's HC choice? Especially one that has failed.

#2062403 Why you think Ron Rivera should stay (or go)? --POLL--

Posted by Miaoww on 26 December 2012 - 12:49 AM

Here's the thing.

The GM should be drafting for his HC.

What has Rivera done to warrant returning? Don't give me "Well he should come back for a third year, but be on a short leash". That wastes the 2013 draft - we'll be drafting players that fit the current system. If Rivera disappoints again and is fired suddenly you have 3 or 4 2nd year players that the new HC doesn't have any investment in.

Sack Rivera. Wipe the slate clean. Let the new GM bring in his own man and let him live or die by his own choices, not Hurney's.

Statistical analysis doesn't work in football.

#2025616 Tomorrow. ATTN: Cam Newton

He should 'machine gun' the crowd.

That would fit with the image the media is painting of Cam.
