#3118132 And the new James Bond movie will be called.......

Posted by methodtoll on 04 December 2014 - 10:57 AM

S.P.E.C.T.R.E

For all the die hard Bond fans out there, you may like this one because there are elements from the Fleming books and from the classic movies that are returning.

Including SPECTRE, which is the iconic terrorist organization seen through the classic Bond flicks with Sean Connery.

Rumor has it that Christoph Waltz will play Blofeld but again, just rumor.

Here is the synopsis:

A cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.

Thoughts?

#3117985 Realistic Head Coaching Candidates - My Shortlist

Posted by methodtoll on 04 December 2014 - 07:43 AM

Don't know how you categorize Harbaugh and Sumlin as realistic choices when a) I think we have looked at two college coaches during the whole entire time that this team existed and B) If Richardson didn't entertain the offer of bringing in Harbaugh before the why do you think he will again?

I think Kubiak and Shanahan are realistic though. I will add a few names to the mix:

Teryl Austin, DC for the Lions: Spent time with the Ravens and was the DC for the Florida Gators. Good at creating strong defenses.

Kevin Coyle, DC for the Dolphins: Since taking over as DC in Miami, he seems to be getting this defense better and better. Has worked along side Mike Zimmer and Cincy.

Dan Quinn, DC for the Seahawks: Quinn is doing an excellent job in Seattle creating a great defense known as the Legion of Doom. Has be widely known as a hot candidate in 2015.

So if history stays on course, I see yet another defensive minded coach.

Side note: Eric Mangini is a defensive minded coach, not offense

#3102068 I need a new TV

I had a similar thread in The Lounge and someone said that Best Buy will have a 50" Panasonic TV on sale for $199.... Wal-Mart has a Vizio 65" for $648

#3067284 Foo Fighters: Sonic Highway

Posted by methodtoll on 04 November 2014 - 08:58 AM

So I am a big Foo Fighters fan so obviously I am looking forward to their new album, Sonic Highway. I wasn't impressed with their last album but this one looks to be a lot better.

The interesting thing they did for this album is that they recorded each song in different recording studios across the country and each song is inspired by that city.

They have a HBO series documenting the thought process of Sonic Highways and some history of music in each city.

Anyways, didn't know if there were any Foo Fighters fans out there but I thought this was pretty neat and several of the songs released are pretty good.

Stephen Hill went to Georgia Tech, which runs a Triple option offense.

I know but he stated that King played in a spread offense, which is not true.

Of all the years that I have seen UGA play, I have never seen them run a spread offense. Now on certain plays they may have ran 4 sets but that's it..

#2898798 Taking your calls tonight- Question: What is your WR depth chart

Posted by methodtoll on 19 August 2014 - 06:15 PM

Kelvin Benjamin
Jerricho Cotchery
Jason Avant
Brenton Bersin
Marcus Lucas
Philly Brown (kick off, punt, and deep threat)

The rest are all inconsistent, injury prone, and/or ordinary. They bring no decided advantage. Philly Brown over King due to special teams. King brings nothing to special teams.

Yeah but King is, imo, a better receiver then Lucas and has shown it in the first game. I would be curious to see if he gets some looks his way against the Pats.

#2889303 David Newton: KB is camp MVP, solidifies #1 WR spot

Posted by methodtoll on 13 August 2014 - 05:57 PM

I just hope they don't give KB the Smith treatment for the "next 10 years" and find a second WR to go along with him. Teams are going to be doubling KB this season, I just hope it doesn't hurt his development.

But I saw that RR quote the other day and It's sure exciting to think about. Cam and KB for the next 10 years sure would be a solid base for an O

I think that is where Bersin, Brown, and King come into play. I think this year is a transition year for the WRs with Cotchery and Avant being in a mentor role to help develop these young guys. I fully expect next year will be a "changing of the guard" type deal where it will be KB, King, Bersin, and/or Brown taking over in some arrangement.

We will see how it plays out.

All I am saying is that Pilares has shown flashes. I never said he was going to be a #1 receiver.

My early camp WR predicted roster:

Benji
Avant
Cotchery
Underwood
Bersin
King

I wouldn't rule out Pilares just yet. The dude has quietly impressed and can return. I think it will be an intriguing battle no less.

FWIW do any of you care about spoilers?

My sister watches the live feeds and my wife keeps up with the updates, so I already know who wins veto and all that ahead of time. I could tell you if you didn't care.

Yeah you and me are in the same boat bro. Wife will tell me everything going on so I, also, know who won.

I watch it... I just hope it won't be as bad as last season. The fights are fun to watch but to bring race and name calling into it is another thing

I work for Home Depot and I can tell you that it is a damned if we do- damned if we don't type of relationship. Either folks are complaining that we are not helping them or complaining that we are bugging them too much.

So which one is it?

Height is not everything... I believe quickness, manipulation, and separation are more important.

#2696609 Moving on to the draft...

Posted by methodtoll on 14 March 2014 - 09:48 PM

It is quite obvious base off of gman's actions that he is building through the draft. With that said, I am believing more and more we will double dip twice at two positions: tackle and WR. The question is, what position is most important in the 1st? IMO, I know we are thin at both but I believe it starts up front, therefore, I believe our 1st pick will be a tackle followed by WR in the 2nd. Now the question is who? Go draft gurus!
