#2285505 Cam Newton: Why Can't He Win?

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 12 July 2013 - 11:20 PM

my grandfather actually had something of a relationship with unitas and my family has autographs and memorabilia of his for the record.

i personally don't think that anybody's "football fan history" means anything.  the fact that you've apparently been watching the nfl for seven hundred years hasn't made you any less of a dumbass.

e: he also did some promo work with joe namath when he worked for eckerd drug in the 60s and 70s

I joined the same day Smiff Joined? I highly doubt that but even if I did it was not to defend him. A lot of what he said is irrelevant, like the boy in the commercial stuff. BUT if don't think that Cam has been acting immature during his first two years in the league then you sir are the one that is blind. Its been said by every reporter and game show announcer during all of his games. It was obvious to me at least that Cam was more worried about his icon status that being a winning teammate. He did seem to turn a corner midway through last season. I don't need to be anothers posters alt because I have plenty of opinions about football on my own. However, I have no problem defending others thoughts that are legitimate.

do you think we haven't been through this a hundred times or something

like do you think we've never seen some moron get banned and then witnessed a new account magically appear that not only agrees with what the banned dipshit said but also considers it "deeply disturbing that different opinions aren't tolerated" even though it's overwhelmingly apparent that the original asshole was trying to be as disruptive and obnoxious as possible

It's pretty bad when you banned someone for having a difference of opinion. I just hope I :can stay off that banned list B/c I actually I have great insight with over 30 years experience watching  and playing football. I came here not to spar with the obvious trolls be to be given insight on my PANTHERS that generally not covered via mainstream media.

he was banned because he had a crypto-racist gimmick account where he posted in what i suppose he figured was mangled black vernacular with intentional bad grammar and misspellings for "epic lulz".

also not all opinions are created equal and an elementary school classroom is what you're looking for if you think every dumb thought that crosses your mind deserves respect.

e: and yeah you're totally the same guy

#2283630 Panthers to ink Quintin Mikell?

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 11 July 2013 - 09:40 AM

And now he just tweeted:

#Panthers coach Ron Rivera says they have curiosity in free agent safety Quintin Mikell.

So basically he doesn't know poo.

sequence of events:

-gabeking tweets person about mikell

-person, having heard nothing about the guy, says "doesn't look like it"

-regardless, person's curiosity is piqued, so he googles "quintin mikell panthers"

-person reads the week+ old rumor that has been picked up by multiple national media outlets

-person logs in to his twitter account

#Panthers coach Ron Rivera says they have curiosity in free agent safety Quintin Mikell.

#2282825 The Decline of North Carolina (NYT editorial)

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 10 July 2013 - 03:13 PM

You might be surprised at how many of the states "populace" are OK with the changes being made right now. Hint: it aint a small number.

Raleigh, N.C.- PPP's newest North Carolina poll finds that voters continue to be extremely unhappy with the General Assembly, and oppose the budgets that have been brought forth by both the House and the Senate.

Only 20% of voters approve of the job the legislature is doing to 56% who disapprove. Democrats (10/64) and independents (20/63) are both extremely unhappy with the body and even Republicans (36/40) narrowly disapprove of it despite their party being in charge. Only 19% of voters say they support the House's budget proposal and just 17% support the Senate's, with 49% and 50% respectively being opposed to each of those.

#2282384 Charlotte, what the locals say..

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 10 July 2013 - 07:06 AM

Why are you so sudden to jump to comparing Metarie instead of New Orleans to Charlotte? Yeah, because New Orleans is a crime ridden shithole. Metarie is a suburb, Charlotte is a main city.

Let's compare nearby, similarly populated Concord to Metarie.

Concord vs Metarie
Violent Crime 5 6 4
Property Crime 6 6 4

Charlotte vs New Orleans
Violent Crime 8 10 4
Property Crime 8 9 4

Charlotte area wins hands down. And Concord isn't even the nicest Charlotte suburb.

Inb4 you jump to comparing Mandeville to Concord.

a higher population area is just generally going to have more crime than a lower population one.  naturally that's not always true in all circumstances (i'm sure compton and camden, NJ have worse crime than charlotte) but it comes with the territory of a larger city.

i'm sure metairie is a shithole compared to say, the hamptons.  but that comparison would be idiotic to make for several reasons, all of which would be lost on pat.

on another note it's super weird to see somebody slamming charlotte for being a "ghetto shithole".  normally saints and falcons fans just call it a boring whitebread town with no personality or whatever the company line is at the moment.

#2280434 Fresh take on Newton from a Packers blogger

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 08 July 2013 - 09:47 AM

In my experience with Packer fans. They are some of the more intelligent fans than most fans of other NFL teams. I even have friends that are Packer fans....And its damn near impossible to talk any trash to them. 2011 for example Panthers score they are like "wow, what a great play"  Great article too.

all of the packers fans i've ever known have an encyclopedic knowledge of their team and usually have some kind of tie to wisconsin.  it seems like most of them have actually seen their team in person at least once too.

basically they're the opposite of cowboys fans.

#2280371 Here is a print I bought for $32, I think it was a good deal!

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 08 July 2013 - 08:34 AM

those are actually going on ebay for $999,999,999,999,999.99 right now.  i only paid $32 and had to wait in line for one second to get it and it's the very rare limited collector's edition first run of 100 with CoA and holographic proof of authenticity.  the frame that its mounted in is also worth more than all of your cars combined and it's made of wood not from common turkish, chinese, or greek forests that turned out to be very rare and expensive.

of course you poors don't understand investing so it just looks like an uncut sheet of currency to you.  i have been buying and selling uncut currency since i was 2 months old.  ha ha ha.  just wait till i post the responses from you rubes on the uncut currency board of my favorite household conversation piece forum!  epic lulz will be had by all.

Luck made more mistakes.

Oh, but I forgot the mantra of the pea-brained: WINS.

luck and cam in pressure/close game situations:

from somethingawful

Final Margin 0-7
Luck 222-407, 54.5%, 7.0 YPA, 16/9 TD/Int, 80.6 QBR
Cam 138-251, 55.0%, 7.7 YPA, 08/6 TD/Int, 80.7 QBR

4TH QTR, +/-7 PTS
Luck 51-89, 57.3%, 7.7 YPA, 4/1 TD/Int, 92.3 QBR
Cam 36-59, 61.0%, 9.4 YPA, 2/1 TD/Int, 96.5 QBR

Behind by 1-8 Points
Luck 91-170, 53.5%, 7.7 YPA, 8/6 TD/Int, 80.0 QBR
Cam 79-142, 55.6%, 8.5 YPA, 6/3 TD/Int, 89.0 QBR

And this doesn't include his rushing numbers.
